Pours slightly cloudy dark straw no head and no lacing. Not a pretty beer to look at. Nose is fruity and straw. Taste is very fruity for what I would have expected, lors of peach and some grassy bitterness. Faste med/Lichten sweet light bitter. Light/mef body with lively carbonation.

Bottle from Flaveurs d’ici. Thanks Jo. Aroma: cereal, spices, clove. A little earthy too. App: hazy pale with no head. Taste and Palate: thin body, soft - almost carbonation and tiny acidity finish. Watery. Overall: Too watery, body too thin, no carbonation, no funk...no fun to drink. Didn’t enjoy it

Pour is orangey-gold with a thin head that disappears like a puddle in the hot sun. Nose is sort of fruity/earthy/spicy. Taste is sort of sweet and sour with a surprising bit of bitterness to the finish. Reading through some reviews below, apparently this isn’t really a kolsch. I sure as hell don’t have the knowledge to make that claim. But I did find it pretty tasty

Pours hazy golden with a small white top. Aroma is banana, clove and cereal grains. Taste is a hair funky, banana and clove. I’ve been told that this is a great example of the Kolsch but this is not a textbook Kolsch, more of a hybrid Kolsch and saison.

Bomber from Broue Ha Ha, served cold in a tulip glass.

App.: Murky light golden with a decent white head. Aroma: Grainy Pils malt, a fair bit of sulphur, a little fruity, herbaceous and a touch spicy (hops), some more-refined light malt. Palate: Medium body, medium+ carbonation. Flav.: Fruity like a Blonde Ale, a bit grainy from the Pils malt, a touch woodsy and spicy, a bit of wet bread dough and yeast; dry with limited bitterness and a bready, malty, lightly fruity/yeasty finish.

Judged strictly as a “beer” it is affable. Style-appropriate elements that are too prominent for the style. Since we aren’t getting all BJCP up in here, I will score this as a pleasant beer.

pours hazy very pale yellow with a small white cap, reviving and leaving few lacing traces. lean pale peppery cereals, citrus, peppery wheat and yeast, very few - yet present - phenolic esters, but also nice spiciness, some grassy nobleness. average carbonation, light body, relatively dry and faintly tart grassy-spicy-peppery finish. within my short experience with koelschs - and on north american ground mostly, i find this beer quite interesting even though it does not correspond to the idea that i have of a refined kolsch.
