Rastacouere (5226), Montréal, Quebec, Canada Nov 6, 2007 A fine surprise to me, I actually found this to be a very nice and refined cider. Very floral upfront. While it possesses a vast amount of residual sugars, its light medicinal character, phenolic and warming, rummy alcohol feels like a worthy compensation. More yeast character than anticipated, perhaps leathery. It deploys a competent acidity to back up the sweetness and the growing alcohol sensation never restricts the important refreshment procured from the drink. Firm bodied, gently carbonation - the latter enhancing the perceived dryness. Good stuff really. larsga (2123), Oslo, Norway Jul 12, 2007 Big white head collapses in a matter of seconds, leaving just a thin white ring. Pale yellow body. Aroma of apple, alcohol, and fennel. Taste is intense alcoholic apple and fennel, very thin and harsh. No real aftertaste, just a kind of emptiness. Did not like this at all. Had a few sips to do the rating, then poured out the rest. Yuck! (0.75l bottle from the wine monopoly.) MiP (4843), Flensburg, Germany Jun 16, 2007 Bottle, 10.5% in connection with KØ07. Acidic apple aroma. The flavour starts off sweet, turns slightly appleish and then slightly acidic. Strong, burns my throat a bit. yespr (6000), Copenhagen O, Denmark May 29, 2007 CBF07 sample from a champagne bottle put on the RB table by Papsoe, cheers. Pours hazy yellow.
