3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 reebtogi (1568) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - FEB 12, 2012
500ml bottle listed at 5%ABV pours amber in color with a 2 finger white head that settles quickly leaving some spotted lacing. Aroma is caramel malts and light hops. Taste is light caramel malty sweetness with a decent hop bitterness that finishes clean. Light to medium body and nice carbonation leave a nice feeling on the palate. This is a refresing easy to drink schwarzbier and recommended for a sampling.
2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Frovigalning (1320) - Örebro, SWEDEN - FEB 11, 2012
Bottle from a promotion kit. It poured a dark amber liquid. Malty sweet smell with caramel. Milder taste with less sweetness then the smell. Felt a bit to thin and would have been better with more residual sweetness.
3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 deusax (179) - - JAN 31, 2012
Not as good as the Cerny Kozel, but a good one though! in bottle in Praha & Ostrava
3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 flying_pig (267) - SCOTLAND - JAN 30, 2012
Bottle (500ml):
A muted, nutty aroma at the start along with a little bit of dark malts and some toasted bread too. There is also a faint coffee aroma too.
A dark, nutty brown looking beer with a medium, finger sized head that is a brownish-white in colour and has a bubbly look to it. The retention is about average.
Light roasted malts and a little bit of toasted bread hit you straight away
with this one but don’t overpower you. There is some dark, chocolate malt like flavours in the middle and a hint of coffee too.
Smooth and light with a mild fizz to it and solid carbonation and there is a touch of bitterness right at the end too. It is a pretty basic beer on the palate but a good one.
This one is a very nice beer, particularly for a relatively low strength dark lager. It was very simliar to a lot of the nicer dark lagers I tried whilst in Slovakia last year and it a beer that I will most likely good back to every now and again.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Maverick34 (1322) - New York, USA - JAN 14, 2012
Bottled. Pours darkish but clear brownish black sizable but transient head. Malty aroma, slight smokiness, thinnish feel.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Glouglouburp (4558) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - JAN 10, 2012
In short: A smooth low gravity dark lager with a bit of everything you can expect from the style. Acceptable below 4% beer.
How: Bottle at Chaplins, Piatra Neamt, Romania
The look: Clear dark burgundy body topped by a small beige head
In long: Timid nose is mildly fruity with a bit of liquorice. Taste is very smooth but also it is far from a thin watery beer despite being below 4%. Red and black liquorice candy without the sweetness sensation, raisins and dark grapes, a bit of caramel, a soft roast, distant chocolate. A bit too much carbonation for such a low gravity beer. Nothing exceptional about this soft dark lager but considering this is a 3.8% brew I must say it is more satisfying than I would have thought. This is a pretty decent little, and at 3.8% you can drink a few of those and still behave yourself. I’m actually pretty good at drinking in moderation, but I don’t do it often because I don’t want anyone to know I have this special talent.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 kalervo (233) - FINLAND - JAN 9, 2012
Quite light taste, easy to drink but not very interesting. Nothing unpleasant at all.
