Harmony between taste and beauty - Dark beer is the traditional product of the Royal Brewery of Krušovice and for more than 100 years the production of this beer has not stopped. The beer has a full, sweet caramel taste and a light hop flavour. The high quality of the raw ingredients assures the excellent taste of the beer. There are several types of malt, natural spring water from the Křivoklát Wood and hops from the Žatec area.

(bottle, sampled 4/16/10). Clear brown color w/ ruby hue. Large tan head, which is mostly diminishing. Sweet malt/caramel aroma. Watery malt flavor, with light yeast. Avg duration. Light dry finish. Slick texture. Soft carbonation. Fair lacing.

Nice Czeck schwarzbier. Pours dark, with a hind of red. Nice yellowish foam. Taste strong smokey malt flavor. Long lasting aftertaste. Definately a beer I will have again

On tap at Ward 3 in Tribeca. Pours a dark brown with small beige head. taste is nutty, slighty sour, with some toast. kinda of flat and watery. but come on first Czech republic beer rating on random monday night boo ya.

Countbeer (1686) - Best of Eindhoven ohne Brauhaus, NETHERLANDS - AUG 27, 2010
Bottle: Light beige vast foamy head. Dark brown to light black color. Smell is a mix of malts, hints of roasted and toasted ingredients and hint of coffee. Taste is light (watery with light hints of roasted and toasted ingredients) and pretty fresh with hints of malts, grains, hint of sugar, slight hint of coffee and hint of caramel. Taste no hops or bitter, more sweets mixed with water and some light hints of darker ingredients. The German Schwarzbeers are ok, but still a bit to watery for me.

16.9 oz bottle into lager glass. Nose is full of toasted marshmallows, milk chocolate, freshly baked bread, coffee. Pours a dark reddish brown with a medium dissipating bone white head and creamy lace. Taste is sweet and sour with little bitterness. Has a grainy taste--like a wet hay field. Taste doesn’t live up to the aroma. High carbonation, light to medium body. Decent.

2010 - 08 - 23 bought at Lidl Praha 9. 500 ml bottle. brown colour. creme head. dark taste. didn’t expect much from a beer with 3.8 alcohol, but it tastes surprisingly good !!

Bottle. Dark brown with an impressive thick beige head. Aroma is toasted rye bread and dried fruit. Taste is the same but with a touch of cocoa. Kind of watery mouthfeel.
