2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 polomagnifico (845) - Saginaw, Michigan, USA - JUN 26, 2010
Bottle. Aroma has sweet notes of faint stale cold black coffee, toffee and cereals. Very dark reddish brown hue that sits black in the glass with an average sized off white head that mostly diminished and left no lace. Flavor is quite sweet with no bitterness. Palate is light bodied and watery soft. The cereal sweetness, watery palate and no hop balance is really hard to enjoy. Just watery and sweet but tastes and feels really cheap.
2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 flemmingwillum (687) - Copenhagen S, DENMARK - JUN 25, 2010
Rating #367, bottle from Lagersalget @ Grřnjordskollegiet
3,8 % Version. This is a black-brown beer with only a little head. Aroma is roasted malts and liquorice. Well, taste is rather boring of roasted and sour malts; notes of bread, too. The finish has some coffee and then comes a mild bitter finish. Quite thin, but considering the ABV, the body is fine.
3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 jaghana (1804) - Strasbourg (France), FRANCE - JUN 23, 2010
Bottle 50cl. A dark brown ale with a medium amber head and good lacing. Smell is on amber malt and fresh bread. Aroma is full of roasted and toasted malt, quite dry and short finish. Body is low and the beers is very less alcoholic but whole aroma is nice and pleasant with several notes of bread and cereal.
2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 TheEnemy (561) - Chicago, USA - JUN 17, 2010
500ml bottle.
Pours a frizzy and slightly murky deep red-brown, about like Pepsi but with slightly tighter carbonation. Pour produces acutely fizzy head that rather quickly vanishes. Not a big winner in the visual aesthetics department. Aroma is metallic at first sniff, then gives way to raisins and molasses. Flavor is a little weak -- showing light molasses at first; then some dried fruit; and then a pinch of lightly roasted, chocolaty grain that was rather unexpected since there was no hint of it in the aroma and turns out to be the only redeeming feature of this beer. Palate is clunky, watery and flat. Never had this beer before, and if all goes well, I’ll never have it again.
