Harmony between taste and beauty - Dark beer is the traditional product of the Royal Brewery of Krušovice and for more than 100 years the production of this beer has not stopped. The beer has a full, sweet caramel taste and a light hop flavour. The high quality of the raw ingredients assures the excellent taste of the beer. There are several types of malt, natural spring water from the Křivoklát Wood and hops from the Žatec area.

Bottle thanks to Bu11zeye. Pours a light black with red hues and a beige head. Aroma of light dark roast, toast, faint caramel, faint dark fruit & light corn. Flavor is the same. Mouth feel is light body, watery, with high carbonation. Overall, it’s a drinkable session beer.

Thanks to bu11zeye for sharing this bottle. The beer pours a medium brown color with a cream-colored head. The aroma is toffee, honey and caramel. The flavor is light toffee and caramel malts with some yeast. Thin, watery mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

Tasted 2010-03-02. Canned, courtesy of my mother in law. Pours dark red/brown with light brown head. Aroma of roasted malts and a little coffee. Flavours include roasted malts, coffee, yeast and unfortunately a little metal. It’s quite decent. I remember it better from my last trip to Prague though, but still very drinkable.

Bottle: Poured a dark black with a thin head. The aroma was smoke, roasted malts and wood. The flavor was smooth, light, smoke, roasted nuts, hint of chocolate, and sweet malts. Overall, a really smooth tasty brew. I was suprised.

Beige head, aroma of citrus and caramel, bit watery texture, it would be more thicker. Something strange dryness is present in the flavour, it reminds me like drinking stout, but it is very short. i’m disappointed, not a big one.

Very dark brown with a small off-white head. Aroma of wort and caramel. Rather dry flavour, malty with wort. Roasted finish with a hint of hops.
