Harmony between taste and beauty - Dark beer is the traditional product of the Royal Brewery of Krušovice and for more than 100 years the production of this beer has not stopped. The beer has a full, sweet caramel taste and a light hop flavour. The high quality of the raw ingredients assures the excellent taste of the beer. There are several types of malt, natural spring water from the Křivoklát Wood and hops from the Žatec area.

Pours deep amber with a foamy tan head. Roasted malt dominates, along with a little fruity sweetness.

Bottle (3,8%) Dark amber with a large slightly tan head that left good lacings. Aroma of light roasted malt, a lot of caramel and some dark bread. The taste was thin with caramel, light roasted malt, nuts and notes of metall and some fruit. The mouth feel was almost watery, not the best beer out there.

Bottle. I love this. The Czech ’Cerne’ beer is usually 3.8% and tick and black. This gear has a wonderful malt profile. Nice beige head. So flavoursome.

Pours blackish. Nice malt aroma, some roast characters come through. Good roast malt flavor, not as thin or lagery as some shwarzbiers. Quite enjoyable

black col;or, respectable tan head, some lace. nose of fresh fruit, raisins, malt. slight roast in the flavor, a trace of hops, but smooth fruitiness throughout. medium bodied, sweet finish. fruity and malty with a hint of hops. not a bad schwarzbier. a touch too sweet for my palate.

500ml 1 year old bottle. Pours black with a thick, long lasting off-white head and much lacing. Aroma is of sour dough, toast and hints of hops. Light, smooth body. Taste is of toasted malt and not much else. I hope to find a fresh bottle next time.

In bottle; aroma almost smokey yet sweet. Taste was milder in body than I expected. First few sips were quite roast/smokey though it smoothed out by the third sip though remained mild bodied. Overall, not a bad dark beer but much better options out there.

Bottle. Aroma is roasty malt, some metal. Flavour is roasty malt, lot’s of bread, some caramel, quite dry. Okay.
