Harmony between taste and beauty - Dark beer is the traditional product of the Royal Brewery of Krušovice and for more than 100 years the production of this beer has not stopped. The beer has a full, sweet caramel taste and a light hop flavour. The high quality of the raw ingredients assures the excellent taste of the beer. There are several types of malt, natural spring water from the Křivoklát Wood and hops from the Žatec area.

Bottle: Ruby black, tan head and light lacing. Nose of subtle roast, light sulfur and copper. The flavor is chewy, fairly dry and not much as far as a little fruity esters. Bland lagery and not enough roast. Fairly clean though.

Good schwarzbier. I first sampled this on draft at a beerfest in St. Pete, FL. Found a local beerstore that carries it in the 20oz bottle. Pours dark but opaque with a really rich head. Flavors are dark caramel, malt, and butterscotch.

Ethereal (2355) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - MAR 27, 2008
Bottle. Colour of dark chocolate with a light caramel malt aroma. Cream coloured head that persists quite well and leaving a little lace. Definitely a session beer, with a light palate and a restrained, smooth, cocoa-esque flavour. Not bad, but I personally much prefer the strong, heavier Budvar Dark.

can: Not a big fan of this style at all. Tastes like dark lager or porter, with roasted coffee notes. I’m sure this is a stellar example of style but I’d rather have a stout or full bodied english ale. Next!

Bottle. This is definitely my new beer of choice for dark session nights. It is a chocolatey brown in color with a soft creamy tan head. It has a pleasantly sweet, mildly toasted aroma. The flavor is smooth, roast coffee mixed with a touch of caramel. This is one of those beers you can drink all night long, especially at such a low ABV.
