Harmony between taste and beauty - Dark beer is the traditional product of the Royal Brewery of Krušovice and for more than 100 years the production of this beer has not stopped. The beer has a full, sweet caramel taste and a light hop flavour. The high quality of the raw ingredients assures the excellent taste of the beer. There are several types of malt, natural spring water from the Křivoklát Wood and hops from the Žatec area.

UPDATED: MAR 5, 2014 Poured from can. Clear dark brown with beige head. Aroma of roasted malts. Thin body, watery texture, moderate carbonation. Balance towards bitterness. Bitterness of roasted malts at beginning, followed by hop bitterness in finish. Some ash in aftertaste. Nice session beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Had this a number of times, all bottled. The aroma is dominated by roasted malts, some slight coffee and dark chocolate. Decent, i prefer Primator though.

Dark brown color, with a medium brown head. Nice smell of roasted malts, and bready notes. Taste is also roasted, not too sweet, well balanced, with in the end also a little acidic note. A nice beer.

On tap at hotel bar. Dark / red with a nice lasting heaf. First taste is watery, aftertaste is discreet almost unexisting. Not something I will order again.

Look: Pours with a fizzy, thick off-white (brown hue) average size head, relatively fast retention, mostly diminishing. Leaves good amount of lacing. Medium carbonation. Clear, light body, looks like coca-cola.

Smell: Light roast, light sweetness, some chocolate, cappuccino, some subtle earthy notes, a bit stuffy.

Taste: Very easy and light sweet caramel, roasty, nutty middle goes into light roastiness with mild hop bitterness in the after taste. A bit missing, but not that bad.

Mouthfeel: Light, silky, dry, but crisp and pleasant medium carbonation - lifts up the whole beer. Bit watery still.

Overall: Light. But offers enough to stay interesting and very drinkable. Good easy roasted beer.

Bottle from SuperBest, CPH - pours dark brown/almost black with a persistent beige head. Very subtle/faint roastedness to this, slight maltyness, maybe some slight caramel/toffee/choc.
