Harmony between taste and beauty - Dark beer is the traditional product of the Royal Brewery of Krušovice and for more than 100 years the production of this beer has not stopped. The beer has a full, sweet caramel taste and a light hop flavour. The high quality of the raw ingredients assures the excellent taste of the beer. There are several types of malt, natural spring water from the Křivoklát Wood and hops from the Žatec area.

Bottle sample. Hazy dark brownish-amber with small beige head. Sweet grainy aroma, some roasted malt, light coffee and date honey notes. Sweet malty flavor, caramel, roasted malt notes, a bit milky, light coffee notes, bitter-sweet finish. Light carbonation, light-bodied. Very drinkable, almost feels like a non-alcoholic malt beer.

kafarion (179) - POLAND - NOV 30, 2014
Aromat czekoladowy, karmelowy, mleczny, tytoniowy. Piwo brunatne, nieprzejrzyste, piana szybko się redukuje, słabiutko zdobi szkło. Smak delikatny, lekka goryczka, tytoniowy, lekko kawowy. Piwo jest wodniste, dobrze wysycone, całkiem pijalne. Ogólnie całkiem niezłe, ale nie mój styl. No i trochę petami daje, ale jest OK.

Piwo ciemne czarne z czerwonymi refleksami (kolor coli). Piana niezbyt trwa?a, lacing szcz?tkowy. Aromat ubogi, g?ównie ciemnych s?odów, pumpernikiel, bardzo lekko kawa i lepiej lekko te? ?elazo czu?. Smak odzwierciedla aromat, goryczka s?aba, wodniste. Nie polecam.

Kauge (612) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - OCT 30, 2014
Can from my local shop in Tallinn (€ 0,99). Pours dark brown with a chestnut hue, and a thick light tan head with quite good retention. Nose not intense, sweet caramelly roasted malts dominate with maybe some faint dry ashiness. Taste pretty much the same. Body light to medium, carbonation below average, palate slick, mouthfeel and finish dry and grainy, somewhat sweet. Very traditional, kind of boring and uninspiring, but then again, I did not expect anything groundbreaking or mindblowing - and as such it definitely not bad!
