Harmony between taste and beauty - Dark beer is the traditional product of the Royal Brewery of Krušovice and for more than 100 years the production of this beer has not stopped. The beer has a full, sweet caramel taste and a light hop flavour. The high quality of the raw ingredients assures the excellent taste of the beer. There are several types of malt, natural spring water from the Křivoklát Wood and hops from the Žatec area.

Sampled on draft in Moscow in a restaurant not far from Red Square. Black, or at least very dark brown, in colour with a tan head. Aromas of roasted malts and old leather. Deep, slightly smoky, roasted flavours with a good full taste. Plenty of refreshing hop flavour that gives a good, long finish. High drinkability. A very well-made, well-balanced beer.

I had this at Global Brew. Pours black with a tan head. Taste roasted malt, chocolate, Carmel. I thought this was ok. I could drink this again. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Typical Czech cerne with beige, regular, more or less stable head and blackish dark brown colour with ruby hue, clear. Caramelly aroma, bit grainy, bit peated, bit meaty, bit flowery. Caramel malts in the mouth, light (and seemingly artificial) sweetishness, light smokiness, chicory-like roasted bitterness, thin mouthfeel, dry with flowery hops in the end. Interesting example of the style.

Excellent schwarzbier, light on body but an excellent nose, easy to drink and pairs well with goulash and dumplings. Notes of caramel and dark fruits, bready thin aftertaste that is please tell but not overpowering. Almost no bitterness.

Very dark brown color with reddish hue and brownish thin head. Light to medium body, average carbonation. Aroma of chocolate, roasted malt and coffee. Watery texture. Light sweet taste. Disappointingly average.

Bottle into a glass. Deep brown/black pour with a light tan/cream head. Aroma is light roast and caramel. Taste is roast, chocolate, light creamy coffee, caramel, sugar. Could use a little more bitterness. But a pretty great example of the style. Easy drinking for sure.

Black with a strong beige head. Roasted malt on the nose. Lovely balanced taste, with a roasted malt finish. Perhaps the most drinkable dark beer I’ve come across.
