Harmony between taste and beauty - Dark beer is the traditional product of the Royal Brewery of Krušovice and for more than 100 years the production of this beer has not stopped. The beer has a full, sweet caramel taste and a light hop flavour. The high quality of the raw ingredients assures the excellent taste of the beer. There are several types of malt, natural spring water from the Křivoklát Wood and hops from the Žatec area.

Test vom 14.2.2006, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 8,8,9,7,6,9 - 8,30

Weird one - watery palate and feels undercorbanted, making it quite bland. Not impressed.

a beer that has a nice rich caramel and red look to it. the flavors are interesting and vary but in the end fall short of any distinction mainly due to a body that also tends to walk the line to please and ends up in moderation. flavors toastied with a bit of sweetness an bit of caramel a bit of fruit. body foamy in carbonation and a bit syrup while quenching and watery.

Really minimal aroma; mainly fresh grain and cola, slight caramel. Flavor is mildly sweet, slightly bitter, watery but fresh. Palate is watery, carbonation is quite nice. Very easy to drink, but how much flavor really is here? Not a lot. Better than the sum of the parts. Upon full warming still has a drier, dustier quality than some schwarzes.

500 ml can at Swedish Systembolaget. 4.4% alc. Nice dark amber colour with decent crown. Aroma has burnt notes and hints of sugar but is fairly weak. Surprisingly light taste with a slightly metallic tone.

500ml can. Dark brown and red, the taste has so doublicity. It’s caramel and meat in it (yes). Earthy hop and some Co2, but quite long-lasting foam. Nice work.

Can (says 4.4% ABV). Clear dark brownish red with a quite short greyish beige head that leaves pretty good lacings. Light aroma of roasted malt, sweet dark bread, chocolate and some syrup. A bit murky and artificial sweetness and aroma. Taste is light burnt roasted and a bit sweet. Nuts, some cold watery coffee, some fruitiness, dark bread, washcloth. A bit sour/stale water ending. Watery mouthfeel with soft carbonation. Yeuch!
