Harmony between taste and beauty - Dark beer is the traditional product of the Royal Brewery of Krušovice and for more than 100 years the production of this beer has not stopped. The beer has a full, sweet caramel taste and a light hop flavour. The high quality of the raw ingredients assures the excellent taste of the beer. There are several types of malt, natural spring water from the Křivoklát Wood and hops from the Žatec area.

Pours with a deep, ruby body and a never-ending, mocha head (at cellar temp). Malty, roasted aromas with smoky peat and mossy slate/iron. Roasted grain is forefront to the flavor, with mild semi-sweetness to follow and a hint of bitters to end. Glancing below, I like Davecooks’ descriptor of, "a brown sugar note (without the sweetness)". An impressive brew from the Czech Republic.

Pours a dark black with a notorious white head that quickly disappears to the edge of the glass. Armoa is of metal and skunked malt. Tastes almost like a Bud Light in its sour, light lager malt with no hop presence. It does not taste fermented or properly mashed. Not a good beer.
