Harmony between taste and beauty - Dark beer is the traditional product of the Royal Brewery of Krušovice and for more than 100 years the production of this beer has not stopped. The beer has a full, sweet caramel taste and a light hop flavour. The high quality of the raw ingredients assures the excellent taste of the beer. There are several types of malt, natural spring water from the Křivoklát Wood and hops from the Žatec area.

Pours nicely redwine red, clear, bubbly with beige top, light frothy, medium stamina, light lacing. Flavor overall is toasted malty, minimal sweet with good balanced bitter between toasted malt and light to medium hopping. When foam is fresh and covering beer - aroma is almost nothing, after intensive rinsing some creamy notes comes on nose. Taste is like dry stout but without dominant roasted-hoppy tones, more creamy, very minimal sweet, a bit sour, mild bitter. Creamy texture, light body, min dry finish. O.A. - drinkable if you like liquid cake.

Clear very dark ruby amber with an off-white head that leaves 1/2" for the entire drink, thick swirls of lace. The taste is mild toasted malt with slight additions of dark fruit and toast, countered by light bittering at the finish. A decent drink for an all-nighter, but not enough flavor to put it with the good stuff.

500ml bottle served cool at home. Poured into an outsize tulip. Dark red-brown body with a loose light tan head. Chocolate malt aroma. Dark chocolate, brown bread and hazelnut flavours. Soft carbonation thin body- a bit watery if truth be told.Nice flavours let down by the texture and mouthfeel.

UPDATED: MAY 8, 2013 Tmave is not a Schwarzbier! It’s a different beer style!! Ok, inner style nazi - shut up! Bottle @ home. In aroma and taste, there’re slight roasted malt sensations, rather nothing much more. Very nice, ruby on a "dark side" appearance. But with quick dissappearing head. Mouthfeel quite modest, light body, almost watery, but it’s probably effect of a corpobrewery policy. Yeah, it’s quite decent session beer, but nothing exceptional.

Dark brown almost black color, small beige head. Aroma of caramel, roasted malts with subtle hint of smoke. Taste is quite dry with lightly bitter finish. Watery body and soft carbonation. Overall OK, but nothing special.

Nice color and foam but the taste isn't really what I'm looking for. To sweet and a light sour note in the end.

500ml can. Poured a dark black with a red tint and athin bubble head that didn’t lace. No obvious carbonation. Aroma of sweet caramel. Taste of sweet malt with roasted grain and a trace of hops - good mix and balance of flavours. Light body, bordering on watery. Short roasted grain finish. Overall very nice.
