Harmony between taste and beauty - Dark beer is the traditional product of the Royal Brewery of Krušovice and for more than 100 years the production of this beer has not stopped. The beer has a full, sweet caramel taste and a light hop flavour. The high quality of the raw ingredients assures the excellent taste of the beer. There are several types of malt, natural spring water from the Křivoklát Wood and hops from the Žatec area.

If you like coffee aroma, you cannot go wrong with this. Dark brown, some head. Alcohol is not noticeable due to low ABV and rich aroma. Decent palate. Malty with coffee and chocolate. I like this a lot! :)

Bottle at home, 500 ml, poured into a lager glass. ABV 3.8% Brown colour on the body, still a bit transparent, with two fungers of beige head on top, thick, with goo retention, leaving light lacing on the glass. Aroma of light roasted malts, milky chocolate, a bit of caramel, liquorice. Taste is a bit dull, but on the finish some roasted malts appear along with dark coffee, quite sweet though. Medium thin body, low carbonation, nice dryness on the palate. Overall more than okay, especially considering the alcohol level.

Tap on the Viking ferry from Tallinn to Helsinki. Poured a clear dark brown with a frothy off white head. The aroma is roasted malt, light liqourice. The flavour is medium bitter with a roasted malt, burnt treacle, light metallic hop palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation.

Bottle - Deep ruby red with a light brown head which quickly fades to a ring. Aroma is coffee, roasted malt, hint of vanilla and burning coals. Taste is disappointingly watery - a bit toasty, weak coffee, spice, hint of smoke, cocoa, medium sweetness. Medium body strong carbonation. Soapy.
