0.5l can. Clear orange color with fast disappearing white head. Aroma of malt, grass and earth. Taste is metallic, but fine bitterness comes in finish.

0.5 canned beer. Thin fast fading foam, yellow color. You can’t taste aroma because bitter taste hits you. Little less bitterness and it would be good.

Opened the bottle to a fairly ordinary European pilsner aroma; grassy, malty, subdued. Colour and appearance very solid in contrast - darker and retaining a better head than most Euro macro-lagers - it ’looked’ far higher quality than it smelled. Taste thankfully follows on from the appearance rather than the aroma - mid-bodied malty flavour with a piney, earth flavour, finishing with clean saaz hops. If I was to get ’fancy’, I’d liken some of the flavours to the aroma you get in a damp forest - that fresh, grassy, piney scent. Enjoyable brew, to be sure, and better than most macro-Euro lagers. Clearly shows evidence of its many years of brewing tradition.

Can thanks to my mother in law ;). Pours crystal clear yellow gold with an orange tinge, medium creamy white head that dissipates slowly leaving nice lacing. Grassy grainy aroma and flavor. Light sweet, light bitter, a touch metallic. Lingering bitterness. So so.

500ml bottle, swiped from my friends’ fridge while enjoying some Papa John’s. Thanks Andrew R. and Kevin C. Born on date is 23 / 05 / 2012 , so geez ... I’m doing you guys a huge favor, here. Mostly clear golden orange color. Good half-finger of white head, with good retention. Leaves good, thicker lace. Medium body. Smooth, kind of soft, lighter carbonation. Lightly slick. Soft, kind of fluffy texture, with a lighter carbonation. Tasting a lot better than expected for a 2.5 year old czech lager that I’ve never heard of. Bready flavor, moderate sweet, lightly peppery. Light herbal, light peppery hop. Moderate sweet taste. Light bitterness. Really a lot less worse than expected, especially for an imported lager with 2012 date on it. Way better than expected. Some metallic, a light roughness, but overall pretty nice.
