Ok. It's better than Budvar, but nothing special here. There's a million better beers to have in Czech.

UPDATED: MAR 7, 2005 sweet, bland but drinkable, slightly adjuncty. very low bitterness. zero hop flavour. not gluey or estery though - well made. empty though.

(As ’Staroslav’ from Aldi). Fizzy gold with a shaving foam top. Pine cone that’s been vomited on, aloe vera, slight pear aroma. That papery, coniferous Krusovice taste; pine, licked stamps. Fenugreek?? Cream finish with metal and slight peardrop. Creamy mouthfeel, light bitterness and pine. Finished it.

Standard hop aroma, very little head that doesn’t last,as for the taste I thought it was bland and unappealing.

July 2012 - OK lager, Nothing exceptional about it, slightly more rich than your average lager.

It was draught, it was fresh, it was tasted in Prague and it was one of the worst Czech beers I've ever tasted. No hops and no character.

(canned) Golden, small bubbly head. Weak aroma of grains, grass and metal. Thin flavour of butter, grass and grains. Watery aftertaste.

50cl can shared by Arve_Christian. Pours golden with a small white head. Sweet and malty with a hoppy bitterness i the finish. Somewhat pleasant and refreshing, but nothing special.

Golden. Medium dry, rather bitter, clean.
Quite one-dimensional. One of very few Czechish beers completely without character.

500ml bottle as Staroslav. Clear yellow body, moderate carbonation, one finger, creamyish & mostly fading white head. Grain and a light, dry grassy hop aroma. Fruity, lemon sharpness on the tongue, cardboard and a fair lager hop bitterness. Quite dry with a bit of nuttiness. Light body, medium to full carbonation. Quite a decent length to the finish. Light, crisp and drinkable.
