0,5L bottle found at Varus supermarket in Nikopol Ukraine.
Abv 4,6 and 11’. Scents of sweet malts, hops, grass, ginger.
Bubbling vanishing head on a straw yellow body.
Tastes hops, grains, malts, in a bit watery way, but easy drinkable.
Aftertaste; grains, some bread, malts, not so much.
Not unique, but if offered well chilled, no reason to object.

0.9 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 3/20
Dull gold with no head. The aroma is gluey and appley, among other problems. A little sourish, appley character. Could use a little diacetyl for maximum authenticity.

1.6 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
Bottle in Yalta. Looks arse like totalky flat cheap gold color. Aroma of slight chlorine. Although minus diacetyl has an authentically Zhiguli aroma of watered down beer. Not bad for a Zhuguli in terms of no diacetyl and more green apple tartness than sourness but does have an industrial neutered grain quality. Is light on the palate and generally true to the Zhiguly style.

1.8 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
This time the 500ml bottle was bought from a kiosk at the harbour of Yalta. Pours a decent white head reduced to minimal layer. Straw coloured body. Lighter smell of grassy fruit. Fruity taste with peaches and lemon. Foamy in the mouth. Rather thin and unvaried (13.07.2009).

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Medium white head over clear yellow body, with a greenish tinge. Sweet, dense caramelly aroma, with notes of alcohol. Unexpectedly strong aroma. Taste is sweet, grassy hops, with a dry, pine needle aftertaste. Nots of caramel and water. Something stale in the taste detracts from the overall picture. Decent, but still boring. (0.5l bottle.)

This one is called "Krym Zhigulivske" and brewed in Simferopol (Crimea peninsula, Ukraine). It can be described by just one word: "Light". Light color, light body, watery taste with hints of maltiness. Light watery finish.

Golden color. Some hops in the aroma, also some perfume-like presence. No bitterness. Nothing else for that matter...
