Glass in an Okonomiyaki restaurant in Shinjuku. Aroma is boozy, taste is better, but still lots of alcohol. Lightly fruity. I’ve had better I think. Bit teeth coating.

720ml. my fist Saké ever. absolutely clear in the glass, the nose is very fruity (pears, fresh apples, melon, probably banana). The Saké starts dry, fruity, clean. The main part is very fresh and full with fresh fruit aromas like green apples, melons, just like the nose. At the end there appears a bit warming alcohol. The fruityness stays very long till the end of the long aftertaste. --> very interesting!! 11/10/11/11

From bottle at Standing Bar in Kurumu, courtesy of the three physicians, specifically the retired department head. Paired with "the organ than human doesn’t have but chicken does." Probably the tastiest sake of the day, light, fruity and smooth.

Available at Robataya Restaurant. A mild and pleasant sake, listed as one of the 5 most popular in Japan. Smooth and lightly sweet with hints of lychee and rice.

UPDATED: DEC 18, 2011 Aroma is melon. Tast has some lemon sourness. This sake has the alcohol less well hidden than the Kubota Hekiju. It’s less smooth as well.

fenutin restaurant, american village in okinawa; served cold / light, dry, smooth, and a bit sweet; like a cool, very light, floral lemon tea with a bit of plum. delicious, and dangerously easy to drink. i drank my ice water and poured the rest of the sake into the glass... aaah, with a bit more variety of fruit, perhaps, peach or cherry, with some tartness.. and we have a real winner.
