Bottle 50 cl. Courtesy of fonefan. Clear golden with a firm white head. Clean malty nose. Medium body, sweet malts and a little perfuminess from the hops. Very subdued bitterness. 041009

draught at the brewery tap in the centre of Abensberg, accompanied by delicous Hopfenspargel dishes. Clear golden colour, large white head. Light-bodied, shy malty background with a fruity touch and good hoppy flavours with a citrusy touch.

Bottle: Clear, golden, big stable and lacey head, quiet carbonation - some lonesome bubbles visible; moderate strawy-grainy nose with an almost fruity touch; moderate to solid sweetish-bitter flavour, light to medium bodied; a bisquity touch is detectable in the lemony-grainy finish. Not a very great pleasure........

(bottle) Clear, pale golden colour with a mid-sized foamy white head. Fresh and moderately sweet malty aroma with a tinge of citrus and shy hoppy spice. Sweet and light-bitter flavour Pale malty, slightly sour doughy malty taste; medium-dry sweet malty finish with a tinge of sourness. Not bad but also quite one dimensional (29.07.08).

Bottle, 5.2%. Clear golden colour. Small white head. The flavour has a slight maltiness, perhaps a little paper. Ends on a citric note. Quite clean, but a rather plain lager.

Not a true Helles Weissbier which is what I had hoped for, but rather a golden hoppy (very hoppy) crisp flavor. I did not detect fruit but there was a distinct flowerly herbal flavor. Low Head - beware of fast pours as that flattens the bier.

Hoppy, light herbal aroma. Golden color, lively carbonation and a low head. Light malty with spicy hop notes. Light to medium bodied. Dry, bitter finish. Quite hop intensive helles.
