DruncanVeasey (1533), Burbage, Croatia May 14, 2008 Cloth bag, Hunstanton, getting crushed at Blackjack. Oh fuck it. Climbing, pale, unhazy and rockily sudsy. Nose a bit nutty and vegetal again. Fresh, light and unfruity. Candy cigarette afters. Watery orange peel-like notes. A bit insipid for a weisse.
Dedollewaitor (1825), Odense, Denmark Jul 6, 2008 50cl bottle @ Rasthof, Munchen. Pours hazy orange/golden with a creamy lasting white foam & giant sediments floating around. Opens with a large pop - foam everywhere. Aroma is herbal & spicy. Coriander & wheat. Ok mouthfeel. Mainly herbs & medicine/cardboard flavor. Quite muddy around all edges. One dimensional & really just not my thing! darkseduction (108), Zweibrücken, Germany Jan 19, 2008 Bottle 50cl. Small white foam, typical colour for a hefeweizen, soft carbonation. Fruity but overall not well balanced. Sour aftertaste. ante (2451), Stockholm (Bromma), Sweden Jan 13, 2008 Bottled at Monk’s Café.Stockholm. Hazy dark yellow with a large pillowy white foam. Ckoves, green bananas, and mild spices in the aroma with funkt notes of white bread and herbs. Yeasty and biscuity flavour of white bread, banana, cloves and rubber. Light-bodied. Finishes of raw yeast, over-riped banana, cloves, white bread and burnt rubber. JorisPPattyn (4248), Antwerpen, Belgium Nov 26, 2007 Very huge, fine & dense yellow head over yellow-golden beer with a light greenish shine; not very yeast-laden. Perfumey, even soapy, very estery - mainly citrus; toasted grains ("honey puffs") and some garden weeds. Again toasted, fruity and very estery in the taste. Like some lively muesli with half-dried fruits, and inadvertently lemonade poured in, ’stead of milk. Reads worse than it is. Wheat acidity, fortified by the lively & fine carbonation, making it quite spritzy. Better than average Helles Weizen.
