COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A brown, Belgian-style abbey ale. Caramel, banana, biscuit and fruity-aromas contribute to the balance of this strong, complex beer. A sweet, bready and caramel flavor follows with a silky, creamy finish.

Very dark amber brown, thin tan lacing. Aroma is apple cider, along with grape, cherry, and plum fruits. Also caramel, candi sugar, and a blend of spices. Complex balance of flavors, neither distinctively sweet nor bitter. Strong tannin presence initially but does not leave an unpleasant dry finish. Very lively carbonation, medium to full-bodied, and some booziness is present.

6/15/2011: Kuhnhenn 9... Aroma: Black raspberry and semi-sweet chocolate/caramel. Appearance: Deep brown color, nearly opaque; dense beige head. Flavor: Somewhat rich with plenty of dark candi sugar and some dark fruits, as Tom would say "that chick must have got f-ed in the shower to have those kids because she doesnít want to wait." I donít really know what that means or how it applies to this beer or beer in general, but itís funny... Palate: Medium-full, sweet and sticky, calm and smooth. Overall: Decent, but Iím not really sure what this beer is supposed to be...

Bottle shared by Randall. Murky brown pour with an off white head. Sour berry aromas. The taste pretty much follows suit. Great mouthfeel and body.

12 oz. bottle shared at the Beer Download table at DLD. Thanks, guys! Pours a murky brown color with a small beige head. Banana, plum, caramel, bread, and brown sugar. Medium-bodied, with low carbonation and a sweet, smooth, eventually coating mouthfeel. Not bad.

On tap at Torst. Pours a light brown color with an oil slick head. Aroma of dark fruit, bananas, and caramel. Lots of flavor. Caramel, alcohol, spice and some chocolate notes mixed in. Excellent dubbel. Challenges Westy 8.

Pour from a 2012 12 oz bottle. Hazy dark brown, thin tan head. Soft carbonation. Nice viscosity on this one - substantial but not too thick. Nose is malty, honey and some yeast in there too. Booze is well hidden beneath some nice malt profiles - quite good!
