COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A brown, Belgian-style abbey ale. Caramel, banana, biscuit and fruity-aromas contribute to the balance of this strong, complex beer. A sweet, bready and caramel flavor follows with a silky, creamy finish.

Bottle 2011 thanks to mikem409: Poured a deep brown color with a tan colored head. Aroma is strong dark fruit with hints of chocolate and caramel. Taste is sweet caramel malt with shards of dark fruit and carbonation, soothing cream finish. The highlight of my 2012 Turkey Day!

12 oz. bottle, sent from northernbrews (thanks a lot, Jeff), pours a deep dark, dark mahogany / brown with a small beige head. Nose is full of candied sugar and Belgian yeast - smells authentic enough. Flavour reveals the same candied sugar notes, with lots of Belgian yeast, caramel and a bit of banana. Quite lively carbonation, which is noticeable right at the beginning of the first sip. Not very complex - quite simplistic, with the candied sugar dominating, though it is by no means cloying. Decent Americanized dubbel.

Pours a brown purple raisin color with beige head. Nose is a bit tart and funky, taste follows suit, with a nice tart grape/sweet raisin combo. Not something I’d seek out again, but totally worth trying.

Bottle courtesy of Drake. Served in a mini snifter. Pours a medium brown with a short off-white head. Nose has some dark fruits, bread, and banana. Light carame-toffee in the background. Flavor is malty with some dark fruits and moderate sweetness. Medium body and light carbonation. Interesting.

From a bottle purchased at the brewery. Dark brown body with an ample head of tan bubbles. Some raisins, dates, plums, caramel, and toasty bread in the aroma. Alot of the dark fruits in the flavor, along with bananas, and brown sugar. Very active in my mouth and a nice drawn out finish. Too bad I live too far away to visit this place more often.

translucent nut-brown, thin tan ring. Nose of brown sugar, chestnut, light oak. Flavor shows more sugar, bark, caramel, lightly dry through finish but more from oxidation. Thin and sticky though full body supports.

Murky brown with a beige head. Oxidized bready malts with toffee and old malt. Medium body with low carbonation. Not that good.
