COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
An Imperial Red IPA made with caramel rye malt and many other exotic malts. Made with very generous quantities of Summit and Newport hops, this beer is quite a balanced treat. Our brewers decided they wanted more out of an IPA so they used a Belgian yeast strain giving it a wonderful belgian like aroma.

On draft at RnH. A really interesting IPA! Pine, herbs, basil, and grass flavors are well balanced with juicy sweetness. Excellent.

On tap at Kuhnhenn Brewpub. Copper with a creamy tan head and continual lace. Aroma of the forest with woody resinous notes, pine, fruit and some Belgian Yeast and esters underneath. Taste is fruity and a bit hot and cloying with some resinous hops and yeast. Finishes on the bitter side with a mild burn.

Pours an ugly murky brown with barley any lacing. Fruity esters, alcohol, and caramel. Not the bitterness is subdued by an alcohol burn. A little messy and all over te place.

Draft at Rattle during the Kuhnhenn event 2012 with Andrew and Brendan. Pours a light amber body with light head. Aroma is bitter hop, musk, caramel malt and spice. Mouthfeel is pleasant with notes of caramel malt, spicy hops, perfume, light wood and bubblegum. Very interesting.

On tap @ RnH (Kuhnhenn and Perennial night) with Andy and James. Deep, red-brown pour with a light, spotty lacing. Sticky, dark fruit and caramel on the palate with notes of Belgian yeast. Good not great.

Sample draft at the brewery. Pours a clear dark amber color with lots of head that lingers. Aroma is all Belgian, banana, clove, and bubblegum. Taste is the same. Too much Belgian character to this for me to taste any of the malt or hops. Finish is smooth and a little spicy, must be from the rye malt. Alcohol is well hidden. It’s not a bad beer really it’s just not my thing. If you like Belgian IPA’s you’ll probably love this one.

I love dripa but ill take this over a dripa any day. The high hop flavor along with the malt and belgian style yeast make this a beer you can't get from just anywhere. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

One of my coworkers brought this back from his weekend trip up to Michigan. Wowzers! This beer pours a light bodied and very clear dingy copper in color with a soapy one finger head. The nose is incredibly fresh and has a really nice floral hoppiness to pair with a touch of yeast near the end. The nose is really nice and pungent. The flavors are nice and yeasty with slight caramel malt and almost a slight candied malt aspect before finishing moderately dry with a nice hop bitterness. It drinks light in body with a nice flash of flavor before going on the hoppy side. It doesn’t drink like an imperial Belgo either. The alcohol is well masked. Overall this is a really interesting beer. I’ve never really seen a 10%+ Belgo before and this is done nicely.
