COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
An Imperial Red IPA made with caramel rye malt and many other exotic malts. Made with very generous quantities of Summit and Newport hops, this beer is quite a balanced treat. Our brewers decided they wanted more out of an IPA so they used a Belgian yeast strain giving it a wonderful belgian like aroma.

Aroma is strong. Definitely get the 9.5 abv there. And only there. Nice deep red color. Essentially no head. A ton of red apple skins in the mouthful. Followed up with caramel and hops to finish it off. Good stuff.

Tap @ Kuhnhenn: Beaming copper body with a super fluffy, frothy eggshell head; creamy & long-lasting. Aroma of spicy pines, hop resin, white pepper, spicy Belgian phenols, vibrant yeast, hints of coriander, a touch of bitter soapiness, & a faint kiss of mild green onion grassiness. Mild sweet malt underneath. Flavor is full of those bitter pines up front mixed with spicy Belgian yeast, mild phenols, & a dash of clove. White pepper, semisweet toasted caramel malts, & grassy hops make their way in shortly. The green onion note is there, but a little more muted. Plenty of finishing hop oil & mild resinous tones near the finish, lasting with a dose of caramel malt sweetness & spicy Belgian yeast esters. Very slight touch of booze. Nearly sticky body.

On tap, poured into a shaker. Bubblegum, caramel, grain, and tangerine aromas come through on the nose. It pours a dark, murky orange-brown with a big, off-white foamy head that retains a thick soap ring with a soapy island and leaves a messy lace. The taste is a medium high sweet with a medium bitter. It’s creamy and a bit sticky with a full body and a soft, fizzy carbonation. Bubblegum, caramel, rye, and sweet citrus flavors come through and it finishes with a spicy, clean, and crisp cola flavor. More citrus comes through on the finish as it warms. Roasted grain, caramel, citrus, and cola swell late and linger in the aftertaste.
