On Draft at Churchkey. Plum colored pour with minimal fizz of a head. Nose and flavor are stunning, with gigantic blueberry skin and flesh, hints of vinous grape and red plum, definite boozy warmth but certainly seeming lower than the true ABV of 15.5%. Smooth, rich and supple on the mouthfeel, certainly not cloying and only very slightly syrupy. Not quite as good as I remember Raspberry Eisbock being, but damn do they do a fine job with this kind of stuff.

Bottle... This beer rocks!… Pours murky, deep and dark brown with no head. The bouquet furnishes oodles of blueberry jam and graham pie crust. Full-bodied with a velvety mouthfeel and tingly carbonation. The flavor and finish consist mainly of sweet, fruity blueberries and a cosmic kiss of milk chocolate that lingers for a good while. This world class bottle of beer was courtesy of FlandersNed!

On draft @ church key. Seemed like the very high tannic flavor of the blueberries, and the malt intensity clashed. Tons of alcohol, malt sweetness, oxidized fruit & malt flavor.

4 ounce draft pour (2012) into a snifter at ChurchKey during the Kuhnhenn SAVOR event. Pours a dark brownish color. Aromas of big blueberry, dark fruit. Tasting notes of blueberries mainly, some booze, syrup. Medium body with a dry finish. Syrupy mouthfeel.

Blueberry, barrel, sweet malt and some caramel. Great stuff. Comes together very well. Finishes sweet with a light tang and some light bitterness. Thick on palate and lightly syrupy. Tap takeover at Churchkey.

4oz pour at Churchkey DC. Pours an opaque mahogany brown with a ring of white head. Nose is superb, smells like blueberry pancakes, heavy blueberry, a lot of dried fruit too, prunes and raisins, some birch sap, a little booze, some grape soda, a fair amount of port. Flavors follow suit, the port is at the front, blueberry, some elderberry wine, a little maple, some birch too, syrupy, a little nail polish but not in an annoying way, a little chocolate. Full bodied, oily finish. Really smooth though. Tons of flavor.

On tap at church key. Crazy. Pours a deep brown to black, flat. Aroma is blueberry fruit roll ups. Taste is very fruit forward. Sweet but not overly so. Rad beer.

On draft at Churchkey in D.C. I’ve been coveting this beer since its release. How exciting to find it on draft. Boom. It’s hard to discern the precise color of the beer due to the lowly lit atmosphere, but what I perceive is lavender to deep bluish purple body with a small, broken head. the aroma brings loads of blueberry despite the fact that this beer was released in 2012. No signs of age or degradation in the flavor either. Super jammy with lots of berry sweetness. Blueberry cobbler in a glass. 15.5%?!? Are you shitting me? You’ll only notice that when you stand up. This beer is delicious and I could sip it all night. Expectations met. Fantastic.

On tap at Church Key. Pours a dark purple with deep iodine hues on glass when backlit. Aroma is intense blueberries, blueberry syrup and sugary dark fruit jam. Flavor is same, very intense and sweet. Alcohol is completely masked, and mouthfeel is round and effervescent with balanced carbonation and residual sugar. World class.
