| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 1, 2010 tap at brewpub. pours a clear copper. notes of cherry, rye, caramel, and booze. pretty smooth and drinkable. a little too bready and watery, which makes no sense since it is listed as 12%abv. not bad though. mattmc1973 (313), Sterling Heights, Michigan, USA

Medium body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium dark sweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. Drinkable, but below average for style.

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 11, 2009 On tap at brewpub. Served in snifter. Pours murky brown with small tan head. Aroma of sweet malts, caramel and toffee. Flavor was malty with some sweet caramel, toffee, and brown sugar. Wasn’t oiverly sweet like a lot of BW can be but it was not that complex of flavorful either. Not a bad beer just not as bold as you would expect a 12% beer to be. I found it enjoyable none the less. matt7215 (1002), Cambridge, Ontario, Canada
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Oct 18, 2009 on the menu as "brew bubba jerry bonicci barley wine". the bartender called it bonicci barley wine. this was the result of a winning homebrew made by jerry bonicci. 6 oz snifter @ kuhnhenn. brown body with very little carb, almost no head. sour vinegar nose with fruity malt and booze also showing. decent base to this but its definantly not on form at the moment. the 6 oz was hard to finish and it was kind of a bummer since this was my last brew. it was the only i had at kuhnhenn that dissapointed me.
