2.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 DrSilverworm (2702) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - FEB 26, 2013
12oz bottle, thanks to umich03jm. 2011 winter solstice bottle. Clear orange color. Just a few white bubbles of head. Big aroma. Distinct pumpkin and sweet chocolate. Very sweet taste. Medium to bigger body. No viscosity, no sticky syrupiness. Just kind of a watery texture. Alcohol is not very noticeable, well blended with the mead. With small sips, no burn or bite at all. Barely a warmth, even. What’s holding me back is the intense sweetness. I like my chocolate dark and bitter. There’s a definite milk chocolate aroma to this, but it’s just very sweet for me. Like hot chocolate mix gone cold. Pumpkin also noticeable, but the sweet chocolate is distracting - I’d like to try the standard version of this, without the chocolate component - that seems more up my alley. Very interesting mead, though. Glad I got the chance to try it. A challenge to drink, though

Bottle from Rayl101. Pours a clear dark gold. Aroma is chocolate and pumpkin spice. Taste is sweet with more chocolate and pumkin pie flavors. Medium bodied with a sticky texture. Alcohol warmth. Pretty good stuff.

[4983-20121201] 12floz bottle. Vanilla-infused chocolate pumpkin pie fruit aroma. Clear, light orange body with a quick foamy white head. Sweet boozy vanilla honey wine and woody flavour. Medium body is fairly boozy. Interesting but over-poweringly perfumey. (6/3/6/3/12) 3.0

2012-12-01. Lightly hazy yellow orange body, headless. 3+ Very sweet aroma, floral and perfumey. 5+ Flavour is similar, quite sweet with floral honey notes. Smooth Average plus bodied palate, low carbonation. Did not care for this one. 2011 vintage bottle via trade with flandersned

Bottle shared by Thorpe429. Thanks Mike.
The beer is clear and golden orange hued. Transparent with stagnant bubbles suspended in the liquid. Very slight white head that fades rapidly, leaving virtually no lacing.
The aroma brings alcohol, pumpkin, butternut squash, pie, autumnal spices.
Great flavor. Alcoholic warmth with at first, followed by a rush of delicate spices and pumpkin pie. I enjoy the flavor even more than the aroma.
Light to medium in body with moderately low carbonation. Alcohol presence is unobtrusive, especially considering the high gravity of the beer.
Overall, a great sipper. Very enjoyable.

Pours a nice golden hue. Aroma of milk chocolate and light pumpkin spice. Flavor is real nice. Lots of milky chocolate, cinnamon, nutmeg, and allspice. Subtle pumpkin with even more chocolate. Nice sweet spicy treat.

Bottle acquired via trade with punkrkr27! Not shockingly, beautiful crystal clear 14 karat/straw pour. Aroma is all cocoa powder and honey. Dark and milk chocolate fill the nostrils and palate. Not a ton of pumpkin, nutmeg, or cinnamon in there...the Nestlé Quik qualities are too dominant. Alcohol is invisible. Very unique and good.

From notes.
Poured from a 12 oz. bottle into a tulip. Braggot looks like flat Coca-Cola in my tulip, with a ruby tint. A brief small island of head disappears immediately.
Molasses, caramel malt, honey, nutmeg, all spice and a fair amount of booze in the aroma.
The flavor is smooth, but more gentle and less spicy than the aroma. Molasses, caramel malt, and a generous portion of honey sweetness control the flavor.
This has a relatively thin body, almost no carboanation, and a boozy nature to it. There is a sticky honey like resin that sticks on the inside of my mouth.

Bottle... Poured golden/amber with no head. Nose had hints of milk chocolate with honey and pumpkin spice sweetness. Had a lip gloss sort of candied sweetness going on. Chocolate was more evident in the nose with honey sweetness, malt, and pumpkin spice dominant in the flavor profile. Smooth, and went down very easy.

12oz bottle from clear light orange with little to no head. Aromas of cinnamon, pumpkin spices, nutmeg, and a little chocolate. Flavors of cinnamon, nutmeg, pumpkin, and faint chocolate. Fair amount of booze and sweetness also. Tastes a little artificial.
