Bottle. Pours a thick dark brown with ruby highlights and little to no head. Aroma is lots of sweet cramel malts, fruity, raisins, a hint of rum and a small hop note. Flavor is tons of molasses, plums, cognac. Very rich and satisfying with a warming finish from the big alcohol. Thick, sticky mouthfeel with minimal carbonation.

Sample courtesy of both the GA Crew and later Eric Kuhnenn. Thanks to all of you! Murky mahogany/dark brown with dense tan head, fades to film eventually. Huge caramel/mollasses sweetness up front. All kinds of dark fruit including raisins, prune, dark cherries, faint banana, and residuel sugar. Flavor is much the same, tons of sweet malt again, with raisin and prune taking over through the middle. Finishes with tons of residuel sugar and faint alcohol. Super thick, chewy and bready, mouthfeel. Absolutely loved this beer.

12 oz. bottle, courtesy my brother, JAZ. Deep clear copper pour yields a small, yet thick light tan head that collpases quickly. Deep caramel aroma, obvious alcohol, and a certain vinous or port wine character. Thick, rich mouthfeel, almost syrupy, and if there were any less carbonation, there wouldn’t be any at all. Burnt caramel sweetness initially seems overwhelming, but there is some peppery bitterness that rounds things out. Finishes sweet, but not cloying. I think that bocks are generally overshadowed by their more flamboyant ale counterparts, the big stouts, barleywines, strong ales, etc. Truly good bocks are a joy, and this is one of them.

Draft @ Kuhnhenn: Clear ruby amber color with a minimal head. Sweat thick dark fruity aroma. Raisins and prunes with some candy notes. Notes of woody/red wine tannins. Sweet malty flavor with a good amount of dark fruit. Full bodied and silky. Thick and warming.

from the tap at the brewery. poured a deep amber to mahagany with no head. aroma wow big malty aroma with a big kick of alcohol. 13.5%, a nice sweetness like honey from the comb, fruity. flavor , the alcohol was a little on the raw side but not in a bad way ( the brothers usually hide the alcohol pretty well ) but this it just comes right out there and grabs you, malts nice sweetness. good sippin beers that you can enjoy with a good cigar

Pours a transparent deep amber mahogany with a thin ring of tan head. Aroma has sweet viscous dark caramel malty, complex brown sugary, bready lager yeasty character. Body starts viscous and sweet with good mildly earthy lager yeasty complexity. Nice sweet and complexity balance and should age very well.

Bottle… This beer rocks!… Clear burnt amber lager with a small, creamy, khaki head. Decent retention. The aroma is a wonderful, sticky, caramely mess. I love it. Also, vinous, port-like notes layered atop subdued chocolate and a whisper of espresso. Full-bodied and kind of chewy with tingly carbonation. Tastes like a blessed fusion of caramel, chocolate and espresso - almost like one of those ice-cold, gimmicky, summertime espresso drinks. Rich, moderately sweet, malty finish. World class malt head’s dream!

12oz bottle thanks to walleye! Poured a decidedly evil deep murky brown with eerie orange accents around the edges... devoured its head with remarkable quickness. The aroma is mighty powerful... rich, aged, toasted caramel, molasses, and plum assault the nose, complimented by eye-watering alcohol force.. very nice smoky Scotch accents as this approached room temp.

This elixir seeps onto the palate with very low carbonation and some brute force... sticky molasses, caramel, and brown sugar form a formidable base accented by smoky Scotch, vanilla, and oak.. very tasty with a warm and drunkening finish. Bonus point because I am a sucker for a well-crafted, over-the-top bock! Thanks Jim!
