Shared with Bartzilla, Naven, WeeHeavySD and others. Split between a bunch of people, I didn’t get too much of this but I didn’t need it. Interesting mix of sweety maltiness with a sour kick. sticky mouthfeel. something to be siped and savored. bgburdman9 (823), Columbus, Ohio, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 7, 2007 Had at ashleys and poured by the owner of kuhnhenn brewing co. the father of the brothers out of a frickin huge bottle that i thought was about 3 gallons of beer but maybe 2.5 like spector is saying. Flavor was very malty, bitter, alcohol and definitely over the top. Very sweet but also seemed to still have some hops. Maybe a little brown sugar. It was awesome to share this very limited beer with all the people who were involved with brewing it. GRM (1295), Aylmer, Quebec, Canada

The flavor is strong on some smoke and has an almost soy sauce like finish. I haven’t had many triple bocks in my time, but this is pretty good. Definitely a sipper. This is the beer that began my decent downhill. Beerlando (2364), Orlando, Florida, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 15, 2009 Courtesy hopscotch. Pours a hazy looking, rusty reddish brown color. A really nice, foamy, creamy head of tan foam shows nice retention. Thin rings of lacing break apart into thick, leggy drips that coat the glass nicely. The aroma shows a beautifully dark and fudgy cocoa malt base, with heaps of nougat and darkly toasted toffee there for support. Roast comes through in the form of chicory, with earthen hops lending bitterness. Dark raisin adds a touch of fruity sweetness. Flavors follow suit, deliciously roasty with big cacao nib, fudge, toffee and nougat all again showing through. Earthy dark fruits lend complexity. The palate is medium-full and smooth as silk, with a warming finish that really matches the roast nicely. Kuhnhenn is hit or miss, but this is one of their winners. Very good. | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 28, 2009 A- Pours a deep, dark crimson with very little if any head.
S- Smell is very rich and enticing. Caramel, dark fruit, very malty, hard to detect any hop notes.
T- Deep and malty, raisins, creamy all the way through. The lack of hops make the deep sweetness a little overbearing.
M- Thick and sticky with very little carbonation.
D- This is the perfect sipper if your looking for a malty treat, it might be a little too sweet for some. muzzlehatch (4427), Burlington, Vermont, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 12, 2007 Sample from 12 ounce bottle at the Mondial, Montreal (May 2007). Medium to dark caramel-mahogany color, little head, unfiltered and hazy....enormous malty-caramel nose, touches of vanilla and cinnamon, very light earthy-clay tones evident with some warmth, enveloping and overwhelming....fairly typical doppelbock profile on the tongue, sweet front and slightly drier towards the finish, lots of caramel and a bit of semi-sweet cherry...alcohol not really apparent; carbonation quite low....only real problem is that the finish is a bit papery and dull. Still, another fine effort in the super-heavyweight class. ross (1709), weddington, South Carolina, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 2/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 25, 2007 Bottle that someone sent me I dont even know when. Pours out a dark brown color with a small little brown head that quickly goes away. Smell is full of alcohol upon first sniff, but it quickly gives way to a really good nutty flavor. Some sweet caramel malts are present as well. The taste is really good, much better as the beer gets warmer. Cold this beer is an alcohol bomb. As it warms up it is a rich, smooth, very pleasing doppelbock. Good stuff, I wish I could remember who sent this to me. Whoever it was, thanks. 2006 bottle.
