Hazy copperish in color. Thin head with viberant bubbles. Nose of bright, sweet rasberries and briary fruit. Rich, but a balance of fruit, acids and ever so slight alc. in the finish. Mouth watering tartness and love the way it is drinking after over 5yrs...now I need another bottle to save!

2004 bottle. Cloudy brown beer. Short lived bubbly tan head. Nose of raspberry and wet wood. Crisp dry palate. Fresh raspberry dominates a mild caramel malt. Whisper of chocolate. Finishes crisp and dry with more fresh raspberry. Remarkably fresh tasting 7 year old beer.

Amber in color with a good sized off-white head. Aromas are of cinnamon, nutmeg, brown sugar and fruitcake. Taste is slightly tart with apples and some caramel.

Nice deep brown/amber coloured body with a dense tan head. Aroma of strong raspberries, honey, caramel malt, a bit of hops and even more sugars that keep lasting. Medium-bodied; Nice strong sweetness throughout with a subtle spiceyness and a bit of maltiness holding up. No hops in the taste - a bit overdone on the sweet side of things, but a very flavour-packed beer. Aftertaste shows the sweetness and little else - a bit bitter in the mouth too. Overall, a nice beer - maybe a bit overdone, but definitely good to try after holding on to it for so long. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Merchant’s in Dearborn, Michigan last year on 27-May-2006.

12oz bottle. another thanks to masonjer for sharing....mostly transparent caramel brown pour with a thin bubbly slightly off-white head... aroma was somewhat mead-like with sweet honey and sugar accents. couldnt detect much tartness... flavors were sweet and malty, honey-like, ripe fruits. very sweet for the most part with just a hint of tartness.

Bottle 2004. Body-hazy murky brown with a loose foamy head. Nose-chocolate, grape, white grape. Taste-medium sweetness, medium malt, brown sugar, some apple, lightly woody. Nice, but no big deal. Astringent.

Bottle, thanks to Bu11zeye. Drank on April 22, 2008.......Pours a light cloudy brown with medium off-white head. Had a light sour, fruity aroma, similar to cherry pie. Flavor was malty sweet-light sour, very balanced, with nice alcohol spice. Had medium-full body with high carbonation......This was very good, thanks Bu11zeye for sharing.....

A 2004 bottle from Zac of Minnesota and served in my La Chouffe glass, many thanks for a chance to try this beer that I had almost given up on:

Deep muddy brown hue with reddish highlight, fading fizzy off-white head but left good lace work upon the glassware. Well I got a full nose of this beer, upon opening I placed my nose down towards the bottle only to be greeted by a foam straight up the nostril... actually that ROCKS! Notes of cherry candy and raspberry syrup, lactic acid, wood and cider, wheaties and baked biscuit, fresh cowhide, earthy herbal and floral notes, and just a dash of cobweb/cellar yeast esters. ROCKING, no really ROCKING

Thank goodness the taste is right up there with the nose, raspberry and cherry over a fresh oak barrel and some pie crust. I am at a rare loss of word of words here, this is a beautiful creation, wonderfully aged and meets almost every expectation I would ever want for a beer. know that.

Constantly powerful yet never over powering, this beer makes a statement I have not had from the Kuhnhenn Bros since my 1st experience with the Raspberry Eisbock in summer of 2003. WOW WOW WOW!!! This is why I keep a search for another perfect 5.
