COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Double Rice India Pale Ale. This gold colored West Coast style Double India Pale Ale has an intense hop nose, with aromas mainly of citrus. The high hop character dominates this IPA’s flavor pro-file. Made with American long grain rice, it is quite difficult to make but the rice con-tributes to this beer’s crisp aftertaste.

Tap at 4th Ave. Pub. Amber pour. The nose is really quite fresh and loaded with lots of bright pine and citrus. A touch of light tropical fruit as well, but mostly dominated by pine. A touch of light citrus, although the body seems to be thinned pretty nicely. Rich, sweet, chewy and quite hoppy. Just a bright, fresh IIPA… not a whole lot to complain about.

On tap at Kuhnhenn. Clear gold/orange pour with a medium white head. Aroma of c-hops (nice citrus, orange) and sweet malt. Orangy hop flavor with some malt and a finish consisting of grapefruit and spicy hops.

Cask. Pours gold with a thin head. Hoppy aroma, florals and pine. The flavor has crisp citric and piny hops, with a light malty sweetness. Nice.

Draft pint at the brewpub. What a beauty ... Light orange and pillowy. Beautifully hoppy and citric, quite full-bodied. Big beer that manages to be light in character, too, and deceptively strong. Exceptional. (#3818, 1/25/2010)

On draft at Uptown Grill. Pale golden color, floral hop aroma. Flavor strong of floral and herbal hops, running over an interesting undercurrent of a flavor that maybe is from the rice? Has a finish that is strangely sticky-sweet.

On tap in semi-clean tulip at 4th Ave Pub. Orange with quickly dissipating white head. Orangy citrus hop and cake aroma. Orange honey cracker (rice cakes?) sweet fruitiness with fairly assertive citrus resin hop bitter finish. Didn’t seem necessarily dryer and crisper than other good ipas. Pretty good.

Tap at Fourth Ave Pub: Hazy orange beer leaves an off white lacing. Big sticky citrus aroma- some cookiesh chewy pale malts and reainy citrusy hops. Pretty substantial body, but not sticky. Has a cookiesh malt background along with a big citrusy/orangey hop presence. Quite resiny with a vegetal character. Seems a bit past it’s prime- I’d wanna try this very fresh.

On tap at the Fourth Ave. Pub. Pours a hazy lightly browned amber with a medium to large white head. Pineapple. Tons of it. Crisp and fresh, loads of earthy citrus and pine all over an ample malty and sweet caramel backbone. Finishes with a light warming alcohol and a big slow grapefruit bitterness.
