COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Double Rice India Pale Ale. This gold colored West Coast style Double India Pale Ale has an intense hop nose, with aromas mainly of citrus. The high hop character dominates this IPA’s flavor pro-file. Made with American long grain rice, it is quite difficult to make but the rice con-tributes to this beer’s crisp aftertaste.

Smells pretty good. Fruity, some malt. This is nice. Flavor is a little thin in the middle, but smooth and tasty. Certainly doesn’t seem so strong. Had on tap at Peace Love Hoppy-ness festival at Big Dogs in Las Vegas. Great first beer from these guys.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours a clear orange with a thick white head. Aroma of sweat, grassy hops, and citrus. Flavor of hop oils, sweat, and lots of sweet malt and residual sugars. It was very sweet after awhile and some acetone notes came out as well. Hmm, just didn’t like this one, much too sweet for me. 7/4/6/2/11 [3.0/5]

Has the crisp dryness and refreshing mouth feel of your choice lager and the nice spice/herbal hop bitterness of a good IPA. Quite flavorful. A really good twist on a style.

Hazy orange pour with a fizzy eggshell head. Citrus hops are predominant in the nose, but in the background is a sour vinegar quality and some brown sugar sweetness. The flavor has less of the sour quality and is predominantly a mix of citrus hops and brown sugar. Medium body with an ok, but not great, hoppy finish. The flavor is fairly balanced, but something in the hops is a bit off.

let me preface this with saying that i am just starting to appreciate ipa’s and that i’m more of an imperial stout guy... i started with a bell’s expedition stout tonight and followed it up with this DR IPA, hoping for some serious bite, especially following up a big beer like the expedition.. this beer lacked the boldness i was craving. still, i thought it was a fairly enjoyable beer. but i won’t be seeking it out again.

The taste of malt blends with the ever present citrus undertones The hops are so distinct but yet present an overall balance with the sugars- and the complex fruit balances any caramel which could predominate. Remarkably smooth and creamy for such an intensely hopped beer . A true awakening, and might I say "reward" for the palate.

Dark gold pour with a loose white head. Lots of fresh ruby red grapefruit aroma with hints of orange zest and lemon, toast and caramel. The flavor is pungent grapefruit and citrus with dashes of black pepper and pine, some savory bubblegum, sake, and toast in the middle and end with a strong catty finish. Creamy, medium full body with soft carbonation.
