COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Double Rice India Pale Ale. This gold colored West Coast style Double India Pale Ale has an intense hop nose, with aromas mainly of citrus. The high hop character dominates this IPA’s flavor pro-file. Made with American long grain rice, it is quite difficult to make but the rice con-tributes to this beer’s crisp aftertaste.

Backlogged rating: Golden hue with some head. The beer profile is mango, pineapple, resin, pine, grainy and slight caramel. Lots of biscuity and fruity notes. Lively and aggressive mouthfeel, slight booze. Overall solid brew but nothing all that memorable.

Clear golden copper color small off-white head, mango, grapefruit, pine nose. Medium body, sharp carbonation, sweet at the start medium bitterness. Candy, grapefruit on finish, some biscuit.

Tap @ Kuhnhenn: Clean, toasted golden color with great clarity & a sudsy, soapy bright white head that lasts for a while & clings to the glass all around. Wonderful aroma. Juicy citrus, grapefruit rind, tangerine peel, herbal lemon zest, dank resin, oily pine needs, weedy grass, hints of white pepper, floral notes, & the most mild touch of cracker malt you could ask for. Huge hop resin flavor; oily, moderately dank, & pleasantly bitter at the right times. Pine, florals, grapefruit pith, orange zest, & even some lighter hints of bitter pineapple & some mango... It ventures close to tropical territory but stays on the bitter citric side. Only enough malt to not cave in completely... Faint pale sweetness. One of my favorite things about DRIPA is the lovely dryness & cleanliness of the finish. Fantastic Double IPA, definitely one of the best that’s consistently coming out of Michigan. Can stand up to the costal big-boys for sure.

Arome hyper gazonnée rappelant le Cannabis. Très résineux, herbacé et sec avec un pilier de maltose solide mais adéquat.

Draft pour. Pours a hazy yellow with a white head of foam. The aroma has pine, citrus, orange zest. The taste is earthy bitter with just a touch of sweetness. Bigger body and medium carbonation.

Orange beer with a huge head. This is a bit too old bottle so not at it's best. Aroma is a bit sweet hops, berryish, piney, resin. Taste is dry, high co2, bitter, lacking malts, sour, resinous. Dunno, weird. Really bitter finish. Lacks the body for this bitterness, though I think this would have been much better beer a year ago or so :) ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Dude. Woah. Forget malts, we don’t need ’Em. Imagine hops in their most purest form distilled into one perfect thing. It’s a sharp and perfect tribute to a great thing. I can’t really put into words how great this beer is. Perfect. The perfect double ipa. Hops out the wazoo, but jot heavy and tiring. Quenchy but still boozy. Spectacular, stunning, perfect. I don’t know what else to say so I’ll stop reviewing it now...

This is one of the best beers in the world. I first heard someone raving about something called "double rice IPA". I thought that sounded absurd and would taste like shit. Then he never stopped talking about it and I had to prove him wrong. So I went to kuhnhen and got it. It?s amazing. I wished I live closer to them so I could drink it more. Since then I happened upon hopcat in Lansing and saw they had it. The choice was obvious.

On tap at Zubaty Pes, Prague. Pours clear golden with white head. Good lacing. Great citrus fruity aroma. Fruity flavor with light bitterness. Unusually balanced for DIPA.

On tap poured into a sampler. The aroma holds lots of herb and citrus peel. It’s a dry aroma with some bread and a cucao like note. It pours an oily, clear pale with a white, small suds head. A thick to medium ring and fuzzy island are retained an a thin, dense lace is left on the glass. The taste is a balanced medium-high sweet and bitter. The texture is oily with medium full body and light, soft fuzz carbonation. Toasty flavors emerge on the palate along with citrus, spice, and pine. It’s a dry, crisp finish with a citrus, tropical, and pine blend for an aftertaste.

12 oz. bottle courtesy of jcwattsrugger. Poured amber/gold with a good amount of white fluffy head. Decent lace. Aroma is subdued citrus hops and grains. Full citrus hop flavor. Grapefruit, orange, pineapple with a different kind of zing that I will attribute to the rice. Medium bodied in the mouth with a crisp, bitter finish. Interesting.
