Bottle... Poured golden/amber with an off-white head. Not sure what this one was supposed to be. Mostly Belgian yeast spices and esters. Some malt sweetness and light fruits. Honey sweetness, the aroma of cooking jello, pepper spice, and herbal earthiness.

Sampled at the Richmond 17th Gathering. 2011. Slightly hazy gold pour with good ring of whtie head. Slightly lemony sweet nose. A little sweet funk on the flavor. Good orange zest on the tail. Crisp. Pretty good.

Bottle with pat, pours a hazy brownish tinted copper. Medium white head, light clearish sporadic lacing. Aromas and taste are filled with tart fruits, wine, skinned fruit, wood, lactic acids, light metallics but not in a bad way. Full bodied and pleasant on the palate with a very nice nutty aftertaste. Taste is very Belgiany with delicious grains, yeast and sour dark fruits. This one is seriously underrated IMHO. Crisp apple tart finish. Ocean salts and other earthy sea tones. Caught us by surprise.

bottle... clear really dark gold, a lot of copper, thin off white head leaves only a ring... phenolic nose, light wheat and bubblegum yeast, the finish is a bit of hot alcohol that kind of kills it for me a bit... tastes ok, extremely easy to drink for the abv but main is this a boring beer, lightly sweet gum, yeast, a touch of bitterness from alcohol

Light gold, decent head, Richnond 17th. Lightly sour citrus aroma. Flavor is a match. Not bad, but didnít do much either.

Kuhnhenn duvil in ms. jones. 12oz bottle thanks to Tooch... Pours a semi-hazy apple cider brown and topped with a thin soapy white head... Aroma is sweet and buttery with sugary butterscotch caramel malt... Sweet caramel and toffee, sweet and esthery overall, which unfortunately has somewhat of a diacetyl bent to it. medium to slightly full bodied with adequate carbonation. didnít really do it for me and makes me want to try duvel again as i remember liking that much more. not much of a wow factor but maybe thatís what they were trying to shoot for.

12 ounce bottle shared. Pours a pale yellow with no head. The aroma is sweet and a little grainy. Tastes majorly sweet.

Live rate: 14 karat pour with a razor thin white head that leaves quickly. Nose of Belgian yeast, candied fruit, peppery spice and honey baked biscuit. Flavor similar...quite sweet with lots of caramel & toffee. High ABV is a bit noticeable.

UPDATED: MAR 25, 2014 [Bottle, 2011 / 2 years old] Moderately hazy, golden-amber body with a quickly fading white head. Aroma is mild with notes of lightly tart wheat, lemon, light orange zest, grass, yeast, bread, & musty spice. Taste is actually a little sour with some wheat, lemon, Belgian yeast & spices, & a little bit of white pepper. Itís like a lightly soured version of Duvel. Sour, dry wheat & yeast finish with a touch of must. I assume some of the sourness wasnít as present fresh, but itís actually quite nice.
