COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is our version of Oktoberfest/Marzen bier. Made with Munich malt, this traditional red lager is smooth, malty, with a clean finish. Anyone looking for a “red beer” has found what they are look-ing for.

Tap at brewery. Clear amber orange. Cereal grain nose. Tastes a bit syrupy, though light. Very cereal/spent grain once room temp.

Tap @ Kuhnhenn: On the chalkboard as simply "Fest". Color of burnt honey, some limbo between amber & copper with mild clarity. Quickly fading beige head that lasts for a while as a soapy collar. Aroma of caramel, toffee, toasted bread, thick yeast, & a very faint brushing of citric hops with a kiss of lemon zest. Hint of earthiness. Not bad, but would like more volume. Flavor is much more boisterous in flavor, however. Smooth caramel, traces of sticky toffee, buttery toast, fresh biscuit malts, strong yeast in the finish. Sweet, but far from cloying thanks to an offsetting earthy bitter twinge in the latter half of each sip. Mild graininess, a hint of red grape, & some finishing herbaceous notes close this one out. All in all, not a bad American take on the Oktoberfest style.

Tap at the brewpub...one of my least favorite styles, however Kuhnhenn made this must-drink-in-October-beer better than most.

Poured an Amber color with aromas of light caramel, bread and toast. Flavors were the same decent marzen, but I might have waited too long to drink the growler.
