Really nice nose on this beauty, showcasing rich malt notes of chocolate, cookie dough and jammy dark red fruit. Flavor is brilliant. Tremendously malty and rich, loaded with caramel, chocolate, nuts. Finish is lingering as well. Well, wow, yea, Kuhnhenn rocks hard. This reminds me of young (darker vintage) Hardy’s. An absolute beauty and one to put away and forget about. Stunning.

bottle at DLD 2009 ... And the Star of the whole SHOW ... brown ... sweet rich toffeee ... dark malts and little treacle nose ... smooth roast toffee malts ... soft rich with a little coffee... but the balance is just perfect ... some plums and molasses...low carbonation... Ok id be tempted with a trade on this one, despite trying to stop trading.

Tried from bottle at 2009 Stone Sour Fest. Wow. Very good. Lots of bourbon barrel: sweet and buttery. Very good.

4/25/2009: Kuhnhenn Fifth Dementia is has a sweet, extremely malty, and sticky (yeah, it’s that big!) aroma. I love the honey sweetness of this beer matched with a deep, rich, and complex maltiness that is bursting with great malty flavors - toffee, caramel, perfectly caramelzied malts and sugar, dark aged fruits, tobacco, raisins, and some warming alcohol. All of this fantastic flavor is packed into a smooth, mellow, and sticky beer that is just AWESOME. This beer is like an extreme Scotch Ale! Wow, this was the best beer of day! Amazing. I need a bottle of this to really sit down and enjoy for like 3-5 hours during a cold, windy, Winter day!

Sample from bottle at Dark Lord Day 2009. Rating #34 for this beer.

Thanks to hopdog for sharing this one. Pours a deep brown with amber notes and small bubbly off white head. Aroma of tobacco, dark fruits, prunes, caramel, toffee, toasted malt, pecan pie..actually lots of pecan pie. Flavor of pecans, vanilla, caramel...dang that same pecan pie I was getting from aroma. So tasty and so sweet. Mixed nuts, vanilla, pie crust.

Courtesy hopscotch. Very dark brown, small tan head disappears completely. Nose of rich roasted toffee malt, heavy molasses, old wood, alcohol warmth, dried dark fruits, cookie malts, aged elements. Similar flavor, very complex. Full body, viscous, smooth, warming. Awesome after dinner brew. Should handle age very well.

12oz bottle shared at the solstice party, with huge mega thanks to Steve and Chuck!!! Aroma has big notes of dark dried fruits, caramel, Cinnamon, licorice, pepper and molasses. Dark black brown hue with a little off white head that mostly diminished and left no lace. Flavor is sticky sweet with some spiciness on the finish. Palate is thick, sticky and oily flat. Loved the raisin fruitiness, the port spice and the sticky dark caramel. Very thick and sticky sweet. Awesome, Frakken awesome!

Deep red mahogany color with a small, off white head that left sticky lacing on the glass. Aroma of dark fruits, caramel malts, citrus, pine, pipe tobacco, and toast. Taste of caramel malts, dried fruits, tobacco, citrus fruits, pine, sticky molasses, and light alcohol in the finish, with a chewy mouthfeel.
