2012 vintage - Maple pour with off white head. Good lacing for a BW. Nose is caramel and light vanilla. A little bit of oxidation. Taste is similar with some sherry notes. Back end bitterness but otherwise lightly sweet. Good. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

tectactoe (1725) - Michigan, USA - OCT 10, 2013
UPDATED: AUG 26, 2014 Bottle: Dusty orange and mild copper, almost no head even after a hard pour. Aroma is sticky toffee and thick caramel malt with a solid fruitiness thatís lighter than youíd expect for a barley wine. Almost tropical, like pineapple or mango. Something else I canít put my finger on. Taste is sweet, caramel-y malts, toffee, some brown sugar and a little bit of dates with a lighter fruitiness in the back-end, like a touch of pineapple and faint apple skin. A little bit of wood and yeast, with a small amount of oxidation present as well. Sweet & boozy but not quite 14.5%. Apple and light caramel finish.

mcberko (6311) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - SEP 12, 2013
12 oz. bottle, bottle reads 14.5%, pours an opaque dark amber / ruby red with a small head. Aroma bring out loads of dark fruits (plums especially), some caramel, not really a hint of the brett yeast. Flavour is extremely fruity, bringing out loads of dark fruits (nectarine, plum, etc.), some peaches, caramel, residual sugars, and booze. Very fruity, boozy and quite sweet. Not the most well-integrated barley wine. The brett isnít really noticeable at all. Drinkable in small doses. Decent, but too cloyingly sweet.

Beerman6686 (4302) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 14, 2013
This one poured a very light brown color with a small off white head. Aroma was of dark fruit, brown sugar, booze, and caramel. Flavor was very sweet, light alcohol, lots of caramel, and some figs. Too cloying.

Bottle via trade with FlandersNed. Pours clear amber with a medium, fizzy light beige head, short retention with light lacing. Aroma is brown sugar, ham, pineapple, cookie malt, pear and apricot esters, earthy and spicy hops. Flavor is caramel malt, medium hops and bitterness, medium fruity esters, spicy alcohol and a sweet finish. Full body and medium carbonation.

12oz bottle, thanks to umich03jm. Labeled 14.5%. Vintage said 2012, I believe. Shared with caterwaul. Mostly clear red / orange color. Good thin off-white head, spread of dotty lace. Smooth, crisp lighter carbonation. More dry texture in the finish. Bigger body. Big, tropical fruity flavor, light grapefruity citrus. Bit of caramel malt. Bigger bitter taste, little sweet. Tastes incredible for 14.5%.. Drinks like 11%, for me. Light spice, some light cream cheese to it. Fascinating and tasty beer to sip on. Surprisingly drinkable. Kind of zesty and bretty, tasty barleywine, a great one to share.

b3shine (5344) - Indiana, USA - JUN 29, 2013
Bottle to snifter (shared by dudeabide). Bottle lists the abv at 14.5%. Looks good; a semi-transparent brownish-orange with thin off-white lacing. Smells sweet and malty with notes of brett and caramel. Tastes like it smells with a solid (albeit brett-present) mouthfeel. Enjoyable.

Dunt (284) - Illinois, USA - APR 20, 2013
Purchased at the blueberry eisbock release. Pours a murky brown in color with a fingers worth if off-white head. Nose is very fruity for a barleywine, I get a fair amount of pineapple and sweet, rich malt on the back end. Flavor starts out sweet and malty and finishes almost bitter and dry. Medium mouthfeel, moderate carbonation, light booziness, and a moderate finish. Better than I expected, but still nothing to go nuts over.

Tap at the brewery. Clear shinny copper golden color wit a small white head. Aroma is very nice citric passion fruit hops. Flavor is bitterest with some citrus wood and sherry. medium to full palate warming but not sticky. Bittersweet aftertaste. Very dry finish.

Draft at Kuhnhennís. Pours a clear orange-amber color with a 1 cm off-white creamy head that fades slowly. Great lacing, love the appearance. Aroma is faint for a barley wine and itís very hard to describe. Getting oak notes, caramel, butter, pineapple, red fruit, and maybe Belgian yeast? Taste is a bit buttery, not sure if thatís a flaw or not. I donít mind it. Very oaky, lots of pineapple with hints of red fruit and caramel. Finish has slight tartness and is pretty dry. Listed at 14.5% abv on the board here and that is very well hidden. Thick body and a mouthfeel that is syrupy and oily too. At first I didnít really like this but the more I drank of it the more I started to love it. Definitely different and I wonder how this will develop in the bottle since it has brett in it.
