3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours amber, bit of foam. Aroma is nice, smooth and velvety. Sweet and candy-like a bit. Taste is also sweet, caramel, bitter kicks in there. Quite sweet but not cloying. Drinks easy, even dangerously so for a 14,5 percent beer. Herbal notes linger in the aftertaste.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle. Aroma is great, that barley wine thing, tutti fruttis, honey, sticky, pineapple. Taste is great, so easy drinking. Sweetness, little bit of hoppiness, no hint of the booze, caramel. Really nice.

Medium amber color. Lots of pineapples, cherries, brown sugar, bread in the nose. The mouth is very full body, lots of brandy in the mouth. Boozy and fun

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap at Kuhnhenn. A dark golden color with a frothy head. A slightly boozy caramel nose. A sticky sweet honey flavor with lots of caramel to back it up. Weirdly thin and light. Very different.

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Handpull at the brewery. Aroma of golden malt wort simmering at about 155ish degrees farenheit and some acidic apple and very mild herbal hop. Clear copper with thin head. Tastes mildly sweet up front for a barleywine, refined cane sugar, some mild raisin, followed by a mellow oaky-hay like bitterness. Fizzy thick palate, but a bit oily. Overall, very mellow barlywine, but very nice.

3.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Tap at brewery. 2014 brewing. Deep clear blood orange color. Very mild sweet fruit nose. Not syrupy. Very mellow for a barleywine. Not very raisiny at all. Cinnamon, still lightly present hops.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
On tap at Kuhnhenn. The pour is a more golden ruby with a nice white head and some great lacing. The aroma is very boozy. There isn't strange sweet fruit to go along with a light malt. There is almost a little pineapple there. It's quite strange for what I was expecting for a barleywine. The flavor is somewhat boozy and bland. It's light. Some malt and a little caramel. The mouth feel is thin and slick with minimal carbonation and a presence that's difficult to classify as the barleywine it's presented as. The aftertaste is lightly malty and there isn't a whole lot going on. Somewhat forgettable.

2012 vintage - Maple pour with off white head. Good lacing for a BW. Nose is caramel and light vanilla. A little bit of oxidation. Taste is similar with some sherry notes. Back end bitterness but otherwise lightly sweet. Good.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
UPDATED: AUG 26, 2014 Bottle: Dusty orange and mild copper, almost no head even after a hard pour. Aroma is sticky toffee and thick caramel malt with a solid fruitiness thatís lighter than youíd expect for a barley wine. Almost tropical, like pineapple or mango. Something else I canít put my finger on. Taste is sweet, caramel-y malts, toffee, some brown sugar and a little bit of dates with a lighter fruitiness in the back-end, like a touch of pineapple and faint apple skin. A little bit of wood and yeast, with a small amount of oxidation present as well. Sweet & boozy but not quite 14.5%. Apple and light caramel finish.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
12 oz. bottle, bottle reads 14.5%, pours an opaque dark amber / ruby red with a small head. Aroma bring out loads of dark fruits (plums especially), some caramel, not really a hint of the brett yeast. Flavour is extremely fruity, bringing out loads of dark fruits (nectarine, plum, etc.), some peaches, caramel, residual sugars, and booze. Very fruity, boozy and quite sweet. Not the most well-integrated barley wine. The brett isnít really noticeable at all. Drinkable in small doses. Decent, but too cloyingly sweet.
