brystmar (456) - Brooklyn, New York, USA - DEC 14, 2012
On tap at Barcade Brooklyn. Smells great: strongly roasted malt, coffee galore, no sign of infection. Taste is a different story, however, with a rapid tartness shooting through the flavor profile to spoil everything you hold dear. Unfortunate.

Lubiere (8243) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - OCT 24, 2012
A deep dark stout with a thin lacing brown head. In aroma, smooth chocolate malt with mocha coffee, light vanilla notes. In mouth, a nice coffee and chocolate with light musty notes, light chocolate, acidity, a bit light but smooth. On tap at Rattle ’n Hum, Sept 21, 2012.

esjaygee (3209) - Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA - OCT 8, 2012
On tap at Kuhnhenn Brewpub. Black with a thin brown head. Aroma is roasty with dark malts, barley, and light chocolate and coffee. Taste of dark chocolate, coffee, roasted malt, grains and a touch of alcohol. Semi-sweet and a touch chalky but overall pretty good.

rlgk (7446) - Skövde, SWEDEN - SEP 6, 2012
Draught at Rattle&Hum, NYC. Pitch black beer with a very nice lasting brownish head. Chocolate and coffee aroma, licorice, plum, roasted, sweetish, raisins, soot, figs, cocoa, bitter and yet fruity’ really roasted coffee flavor with dark chocolate, cocoa powder, figs, vinous, some berries, licorice, red currant, notes of leather, earthy and with some soot. Refreshing and with great balance. I love the attitude the berries bring to this beer.

Silphium (2969) - East Lansing, Michigan, USA - AUG 25, 2012
Draft at Kuhnhenn, listed as "Export Stout" with an 8% ABV. Deep opaque red-brown body, medium tight ochre head. Nose oily with molasses and coffee beans. Marshmallowy body with charred sugars, toast, molasses, and soy. Creamy, rich, and full-bodied with nice complexity. Excellent.

BOLTZ7555 (2378) - Phoenix, Arizona, USA - MAR 25, 2012
Sampled @ Rattle N Hum. Pitch black pour with a creamy latte head. Thick mouthfeel like drinking a milkshake. Lots of cocoa, brownie, vanilla and caramel. Really enjoyed it although not always a fan of the style. Smooth...mellow...with a sneaky 7%. Thought I could drink this all night...but would knock me out quickly!
