My first kuhnhenn beer ever and a good what at that!!!! Big thanks to Beerman6686 for this extra in our great trade. This beer was poured from a 12 oz bottle into a curved schell’s glass. It’s a very murky ( can’t see through it) dark yellow color with a very think head that fades quick to nothingness. Smell is of lemons and yeast. Taste is nicely carbonated with some citrus upfront and the finish is yeasty and sweet with a slightly bitter after taste that makes you take another sip. Well rounded brew, thanks Beerman6686

12oz bottle picked up at the brewpub. 2011 Summer Solstice. Pours a cloudy, bright orange colored body with an inch thick, dense, foamy and frothy, pure white head that dissipates slowly and leaves a nice lacing throughout. Gorgeous looking hefe. Aroma is pretty solid. A nice mix of citrus, banana, clove, and lightly sweetened wheat malts. Flavor is alright, but not as nice as the aroma. A little too much citrus throughout that gets pretty juicy towards the end. Some grainy wheat in the middle with a light banana and clove. Gets a bit yeasty at the end as this dries cleanly with some smooth wheats and the citruses. Medium length aftertaste following a medium, smooth body and a soft, moderate carbonation. Overall, a decent hefe. Very pretty out of the bottle with a solid aroma, but the flavor had a bit too much citrus for my liking. Not bad though.

12oz Bottle. Thanks Sean! So, I don’t know what the Ambrosiaweiss was all about, but I think I even less understand this beer. This tastes like German Hefeweizen fermented honey water. There HAS to be honey in this. It’s the only sugar flavor I’m getting. Seltzery. Super-light. I get some distant melange of the stereotypical banana and clove (edging) banana, but I mostly get seltzer and honey. Lots of bread yeast. Needs cleaning up.

Bottle courtesy of Huhzubendah. Served in a Bruery tulip.
Pours a hazy bright yellow color with a single-finger white head that is fairly fluffy. Good retention and light lacing on the way down. The nose is very bready with a noticeable of bread-yeast character. A moderate amount of banana and clove as well. Flavor is bready with some German yeast. Too bready. Light body and fairly chewy. Not a huge fan, simply too much like fast-rising bread yeast.

Draft. Hazed golden with a thin white lacy walk-sticking head. Lots of citrus, banana, spicees like clove, cinnamon, all with orange and lemon touches. Really nice.

12oz Bottle. Pours a very cloudy muddy golden color with no head. Some banana in the aroma, kind of weak. Body is medium and carbonation is a bit low. Finding some yeast and wheat in the flavor this is also lacking. Overall, tastes kind of home-brewy.
