Golden cloudy wheat beer. This is a true to style beer. Made using mostly malted wheat and a special yeast which gives this beer it’s destinct banana and clove flavors and aromas.

Thanks to flemdawg for this bottle. Poured a medium fizzy white head, fair lacing, uncarbonated, butterscotch hue. Aroma was malty, sweet, banana, spice, and clove. Flavor was sweet, acidic, tart, tangy, malty, orange, and spicy. Tart and acidic mouthfeel. Medium bodied. Had a weird taste for this style IMO compared to most for this style.

Dark yellow to light orange in color. Hazy body and a HUGE inital head. The whole bottle was foamy white bubbles. It took some time to contiue pouring. Yeasts, wheat, and lemons in the aroma. A subdued lemon flavor and some hints of wheat, but not a lot. There was also a bit of sweetness near the finish. A wonderful drink for a warm August afternoon.

Color is clouded pale straw yellow, a massive head builds quickly to the pour and resides after a good while to a sloid murky skim always present. Chunky lacing sticks all over the place. Aroma is of lemon and banana juices, dull wheaty tones mix well within and very slight yeast notes appear around the edges. Taste is mellow, smooth, tangy with a solid tropical fruityness dripping with orange zest, apple tartness, lemon, and banana peels, a large wheaty backing thats sharp but seamingly held back for a smoother overall taste makes for some excellent smoothness in its overall character. Quite nice to take in. Feel has a light to medium body, tart-like, fruity tanged, smooth for sure, although something about it seemed empty, mostly the front, and some of the finish. Can’t really say it was watery or thin, just not alot of fullness here. But man was this a nice taster. A great mix of fruits with this one. Good stuff.

22 oz bottle. Great banana nose, very spicy! Super cloudy; I love an unfiltered hefe! Ahh, but then, after a good dose of lemonyness, this gets a bit sour and falls apart when warm. Really, the flavors fall apart - the body gets really thin and any complexity is just out the window and you get a spicy thinness....

UPDATED: JUN 16, 2005 I need to rerate this beer because the taste buds have changed a bit I have had a couple other hefes and this one is the best that I have had . Old rating 5,3,5,3,10bottle poured a golden color with little to no head. aroma wheat, lemon, yeasty, hints of clove could not smell banana. flavor cloves, citrus like a a grape fruit that is not quite ripe.when I get the armoas like this beer I usually do not like the beer but this one is different, I would enjoy this beer on a nice hot day sitting on the deck.

Bottle. Poured with an explosive head. Overcarbonated. Still fizzing merrily away. Clove and wheat aroma. Definite clove in flavor with wheat in the background. Crisp/tart finish. Would be much better with less carbonation.

UPDATED: APR 23, 2004 2004 draught. Darker than traditionally is, this one is a rich gold-maize with some light brown hints. Big foamy white head, and a wet, wheaty aroma along with some bubble gum and light clove hints. Flavor has plenty of fresh wheat taste, and there is ample clove and light banana, but instead of finishing crisp, this one finishes a bit too watery. Has a moderately sweet body, but seems a bit too thin. The banana and clove could stand to be more pronounced and even could use some more carbonation.
