tap: murky golden yellow with huge white head. Great lacing. Nice spicy banana aroma. Lots of clove. Flavor is huge yeasty/chewy banana and bubblegum with nice clove kick towards the end. Nice lingering hefe aftertaste. One of the best hefe’s I’ve ever had.

UPDATED: JUN 16, 2005 I need to rerate this beer because the taste buds have changed a bit I have had a couple other hefes and this one is the best that I have had . Old rating 5,3,5,3,10bottle poured a golden color with little to no head. aroma wheat, lemon, yeasty, hints of clove could not smell banana. flavor cloves, citrus like a a grape fruit that is not quite ripe.when I get the armoas like this beer I usually do not like the beer but this one is different, I would enjoy this beer on a nice hot day sitting on the deck.

On tap: Lots of banana in the aroma with some clove. Cloudy dull orangish-yellow with a small white head. Lots of banana up front. Finsihes citrusy with a nice clove balance. A touch of sourness in the finish as well along with a hint of acidity. One of the best hefes I’ve ever had. Very well done.

Sampled at GABF on 9/16/2010. This Hefeweizen pours a light gold color. Small to medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is banana and clove, fruity and sweet. A medium to light bodied Hefeweizen. The malts are fruity and sweet with lots of banana and clove. Nice balance. Good carbonation. A very nice traditional Hefeweizen. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.

Color is clouded pale straw yellow, a massive head builds quickly to the pour and resides after a good while to a sloid murky skim always present. Chunky lacing sticks all over the place.
Aroma is of lemon and banana juices, dull wheaty tones mix well within and very slight yeast notes appear around the edges.
Taste is mellow, smooth, tangy with a solid tropical fruityness dripping with orange zest, apple tartness, lemon, and banana peels, a large wheaty backing thats sharp but seamingly held back for a smoother overall taste makes for some excellent smoothness in its overall character. Quite nice to take in.
Feel has a light to medium body, tart-like, fruity tanged, smooth for sure, although something about it seemed empty, mostly the front, and some of the finish. Can’t really say it was watery or thin, just not alot of fullness here. But man was this a nice taster. A great mix of fruits with this one. Good stuff.

Draft @ brewpub. Hazy straw with a nice head. A great banana cream nose with lighter notes of vanilla. The body is creamy with wheat malts. Also, a fantastic balance of banana, graham, clove and vanilla. Very nice.

Tasted 4/17/10. Schlafly’s Repeal of Prohibition Festival. Hazy and golden with a white head. Bitter banana nose with zesty esters. Medium bodied with a zesty, zippy effervescence. Typical banana and clove, but with a bigger punch og hops. Great body and good carbonation. Very Nice!

Aroma is sweet bubblegum, apricot, and wheat. YUM!
Taste is immensely bubblegum, like bazooka joe ejaculated in my mouth, apricot, and wheat.
Finish is sweet, watery, wheaty, and a bit sticky.
Outstanding!

Draught: Darker yellow big white head. Huge banana and bubblegum aroma so good you almost don’t want to drink it. Taste is obviously the same banana all the way but not fake banana the real deal, bubblegum spicy yeast, wheat, cloves, lightly hopped, it’s all there a perfect hefe.

Sampled at Schlafly’s 2010 Repeal of Prohibition Festival - This was one great hefe. Pours deep yellow/orange that is very cloudy with a small off-white head. The aroma has bubblegum, banana, clove and lots of wheat - very bit aroma for the style. Medium body with soft carbonation. The flavor starts with rich wheat, good amount of banana, but not over estery either. The finish adds some spice and has pleasant lingering semi-sweet wheat. There is also some apricot as it warms up.
