(187ml bottle from Epic Mead Tasting 2011, thanks in part to blutt59 and Mora2000) clear gold/copper with nice coating on the glass, but no real legs. Nose of orange pulp, honey, grapefruit and a bit herbal. Taste of citrus, orange, cinnamon, spicy bite, mildly bitter and easy to drink. Linger of honey and citrus on the palate.

Thanks to blutt59 and thirdeye11 for going in with me on 16 Kuhnhenn meads. This was part of an epic 20 mead tasting.
A hopped mead? Should be interesting. Pours a golden orange color. The aroma is heavy on the amarillo hops. I get some orange citrus notes as well as a little bit of pine and some honey notes. The flavor is more of the same. I get some sweet, sugary honey notes which go very well with the pine and orange notes from the hops. Medium mouthfeel.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 Cavie (3248) - Fort Worth, Texas, USA - SEP 8, 2011
Bottle courtesy the great mead trade of 2011. (thirdeye11, blutt59, mora2000.) Pours a clear yellow gold color. I’m just going to start leaving off the no carbonation thing but you get my idea. Aroma is very hoppy. Hopped smell with spice and earthy leaves. Flavor is very sweet honey with a large flavor and sense of hops. Interesting to say the least. Very interesting.

Bottle at James’ mead tasting. Pours a clear golden orange. Sticky honey and subtle citrus and very light toast. Warm honey and very light toast and hops. Soft bitterness starts early and balances lightly with the sweetness.

bottle picked up by Olga, called Hopnoxius Hop Amarillo, but I assume this is the same thing... light peach body, ok... not as nice as the cascade, a bit harsher hops on this, chemical amarillo with a bit of sweetness, still solid... the taste loses all the hop, this is just really sweet honey with a touch of bitter hops on the back... easy to drink, just ruined by having the Cascade first
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 TheAlum (3299) - Lisle, Illinois, USA - JUN 19, 2011
Small bottle shared by Kan. Thanks a bunch! Pours a nice golden hue, a faint haze, no head, but largely clear in haze. Aromas are a good healthy Amarillo hop essence. Citrusy, fruity, with a healthy honey presence. Touches of tangerine, honey malts. Initial is sweeter, honey and a lot of oranges, with tangerines, Mandarin oranges, sweet honey, and bigger bitter florals and citrus hops. Finish is a melange of sweet and dry maltiness, the hops lose their focus. Cascade’s aroma was better, but this hop leads the mead better. A decent bitterness, lingering bitter citrus, florals and grass. This mead leaves a better lingering bitterness.
