Dark brown color, almost black; no head. Nice aroma, some oxidisation, wood, firewood, alcohol, fruity esters, sweet caramel. Nice flavor, sweet, chocolately, with some mead trace, very light fruity sourness, some dark berries; medium length final; light alcohol warmth.
Not a typical mead, but an interesting product indeed.

Bottled. Almost Black coloured. Aroma: Honey, caramel, sweetness, fruits. Flavour, honey, sweetness, sweetness, fruits, Spice.medium bodied. Ends honey dense and spiced.

Bottle at yespr. Pitch black coloured with a medium sized beige head. Sweet and light roasted aroma of honey and dried fruits with notes of vanilla and bourbon. Sweet and light roasted flavour of honey and dried fruits with notes of caramel and port wine. Sweet and warming alcoholic finish.

Bottled. A pitch black beer with a lazing dark brown head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt, and chocolate. The flavor is sweet with notes of mead, lemons, and roasted malt, leading to a dry woody finish.

Rich body, has a light sparkle, sweet chocolatish roastiness, rotten dark dried fruit, burned figs, honeyish and woody, sweet Bourbon. Warming alcohol finish. Very odd and different, but very delicious too. 160912

12 fl oz bottle. Pours pitch black with a small chocolate brown head. Aroma is dense honey, bourbon and herbal. Dense honey, dark roasted malty and chocolate. Honey herbal and light fruity. Sweet, dark roasted malty and honey dense finish.

(12oz bottle, 2011 vintage) Pours a still opaque black body. Aroma of bourbon, wood, honey, and vanilla. Flavor of bourbon, honey, raisins, plum, wood, and toffee.

Poured from a 12oz bottle. Pours very dark brown, nearly black with no head and almost no carbonation. Aroma is bourbon, burnt honey, figs, and toffee. Taste is super sweet...diabetes in a bottle. Lots of fig and honey and a nice smokiness/maltiness in there too. Wow, it is sweet.

Bottle from Sean - thanks! Still black pour. Aroma is bourbon over dense, thick malt, honey, fig, raisin, and port wine-like aromas. Taste is decadent fig, raisin, and port flavor with bourbon, sweet honey and an odd twang toward the finish. The taste takes on a bit of sourness as it warms. Mouthfeel is light and lacking carbonation. This is a decadent sipper and nice enough in 3-4 ounce spurts. Worth a try.

Absolutely inspiring delicious braggot, a great mead. Black bodied, roast and wine aroma. A great drinker despite the alcohol. Some raison. Thanks for sharing Tim.
