This black in color imperial stout’s aro-ma is lead by coffee and dry roasty notes. Crème Brulè coffee is brewed and added post-fermentation. This killer stout is highly sought after at every tasting we take it to.

4 oz pour on draft at ChurchKey for the Kuhnhenn Comes To Washington event. Black with nice tan head. Aromas of creme brulee and vanilla. Tastes of vanilla, creme brulee, dark chocolate, caramel. Medium body with a dry finish.

On tap at the brewery. A great pure black color with a frothy dark bubbly head. A big cocoa puff aroma. A nice roasty chocolate feel. The sugary feel like cocoa puffs comes back in the flavor and feel. A little thin but nice. Good stuff.

Bottle thanx to punkrkr27...Pours black with with no head...Aroma is sweet with coffee, earth and chocolate...Flavor is coffee, roasted malts and a dark chocolate bitterness... Seems a bit thin for an impy but has very good carbonation...Good but I think Southern Tier’s creme brulee edges this one out.

Bottle. Nearly black, thin brown head, scant lacing. Aroma of chocolate custard. Taste is sweet and thick, like Vietnamese coffee made with evaporated milk. Interesting.

12oz bottle shared by bring on BA - thanks, Barry! Pours dark brown with a very small light tan head. Kuhnhenn is not big on heads overall it seems. This has more than most of their beers though. Aroma is very rich with loads of chocolate and coffee. Sweet malts and a little alcohol as well. Smells excellent. Flavor is not quite up to the level of the aroma, but still tasty. Very Tootsie roll-like with milk chocolate as well as coffee, toffee, and roast. Not too much going on, but what is going on works well. Medium-bodied and smooth on the palate with a drying mouthfeel. Very enjoyable overall. Would not be hard to take down a full bottle of this beer.

THIN, COFFEE, too light. this is imperial?!?! tastes about 6% abv. super coffee flavor, but lacked any oomph. still, pretty good.

Enjoyed on tap at the brewpub. A real coffee and sweet cream experience. Reddish brown body. Very creamy mouthfeel. Smells creamy coffee. Better than the Southern Tier version. Great even for a non-coffee drinker like me.

UPDATED: DEC 24, 2010 Bottle. A tale of two beers. Visually stunning black with brown head. Nose nails creme brulee almost perfectly - toasted vanilla, cocoa powder, coffee and creme brulee. Taste is a bit of a disappointment. Weakish body. Taste is burnt caramel, roasted chocolate malts, cocoa butter and vanilla extract.

Tap at Rattle for the Kuhnhenn takeover. Pours hazy brown, lots of coffee aroma. That’s pretty much all, just lots of coffee, but in a good way. Taste has some vanilla and caramel, sweet malt, bitter coffee finish. I quite enjoyed this beer.

On tap at Kuhnhenn. Pours black with a creamy beige head. Decent lacing and fades quickly. Aroma is extremely sweet with notes of espresso, coffee creamer, coffee, and chocolate. Flavor is not as sweet as the aroma but still packs hints of coffee, vanilla, caramel, and cream. If you are fan of sweet stouts this is pretty good.
