This black in color imperial stout’s aro-ma is lead by coffee and dry roasty notes. Crème Brulè coffee is brewed and added post-fermentation. This killer stout is highly sought after at every tasting we take it to.

bottle, thanks derek. pours blk tan head nose is loaded with coffee and chocolate with a big creme brûlée kick and roast character that compliments nicely. Flavor is sour dark fruit and chocolate, vanilla too but that sour is off killing such great potential too, I’m sad. 8/4/5/3/13. draft versions were right on point with big sweet creme brulee quality. not my thing but i see why people like it.

Bottle thanks to footbalm. Pours a totally black hue with a medium beige head. A huge coffee nose, milky and sweet. The flavor is a slightly sour mix of coffee, roasted malts, earthy nutty flavors, cream and milk. Smooth, the sourness doesn’t bother me, but I could see it as off-putting for some. Enjoyable.

Bottle. Pours opague black with a reddish tan head. The aroma is heavy coffee, chocolate, roasted malt, chocolate cookies and brownies. The flavour is very bitter roasted coffee with a sour acidic touch. Notes of chocolate, cookies and some acidic berries. Bit weird flavour.

At brewery. Pours black with tan head. Strong goffee, cream in the nose. Very smooth with a light body and roasty finish. This beer would be excellent if it had a thicker body.

32oz growler pours a viscous, opaque black with one ring of tan head. Aroma is coffee, vanilla, hazelnut, caramelized sugar. Flavor is very sweet, vanilla, caramelized sugar, coffee, vanilla beans. Finish is full bodied but smooth.

3/03/2010: Kuhnhenn Imperial Crème Brûlée Java Stout... Aroma: Wow, definitely fragant! I have it about a foot and a half away and I can still smell the caramelized sugar and coffee! Freshly roasted coffee beans and vanilla bean pops from the aroma when closer to the nose. Appearance: Near black color; lasting, dense, tan-colored head; opaque. Flavor: Coffee and vanilla right up front, a yeasy creaminess follows along with some milky chocolate, and the finish reminds me of a sweeted cappuccino. Palate: Medium-light to medium; a bit thin, but silky smooth. Overall: This beer lives up to its name, but it smells better than it tastes; extremely drinkable and balanced (not overly sweet like the Southern Tier), but the flavor isn’t overly complex and fizzles out quickly...

12 fl. oz. bottle shared by alexsdad06. Thanks Brad! Rating #34 for this beer.

Draught at HopCat, RBSG. Big coffee and crème brulee nose. Rich, light body, again with crème brulee and coffee, as well as wood. Tasty and rather light, with a somewhat thin body. Enjoyable.

I had this on tap at the brewery into a tulip...The beer is medium black, light tan carbonation, doesn’t last long...The aroma is super strong, exactly like coffee, too strong though. A little too sweet...The taste is sweet milk and vanilla, interesting, really hits the creme brulee on the head. Coffee finish, can drink a little, but right now the flavors are too strong. Tone it down a bit and maybe this will be really good.
