3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 5000 (4113) - Hardened Liver, Washington, USA - APR 7, 2005
Bottle pours a hazy caramel, large white frothy head, sticky lacing, with very light carbonation.   Pine on the nose, hops are secondary.   Seems a tad citrusy as well.   Unfortunately I pick up a bit of wet towel, as if you’d been at the public pool.   Flavors of grain and very subtle hops.   Doesn’t seem sharp enough to be an IPA, but maybe a Pale Ale.   Medium body and mouthfeel.   Don’t care much for the finish, grains and stale hops.   Doesn’t seem very fresh.   Meh... PNW IPAs have spoiled me I guess.   Thanks goes out to jtw for the trade!

bottle....a textbook IPA. feels essentially like a two-hearted clone, with a dominant centennial presence. no sense of the storng 6.3%. finishes lighter than it starts, but still quite enjoyable. this will be an excellent summer brew.
3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Brad (364) - Berkley, Michigan, USA - MAR 25, 2005
Light transparent amber, bubbly lasting off white head. Great hop aroma. First thing that you notice after pouring, spicy hops at that, grapefruit, outher sour citrus, touches of hemp. Strong hop flavor start to finish, as there should be, with the fruits being presented nicely.
3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20 SuIIy (1878) - Natick, Massachusetts, USA - MAR 24, 2005
UPDATED: NOV 27, 2005 Strong nose of citrusy dank pot. pours golden with white head. Taste is more grapefruity with every sip. very hoppy. different then most pale ales, very unique and flavorful. almost floral.
9/8/05 Pours a golden orange color with a nice frothy white head. Nose is very sweet, tangerines, apricots, with some hopps also swirling about. Flavor is very full and rich, the apricots again appear with some light bananas and grapefruit maybe? Finishes fresh and bitter, very refreshing.

Tap. Medium amber in color. Nice white head leaves great lacing. Huge "C" hop aroma. Well balanced. Very citric and piney flavors. Long lasting hop finish. Very well done.
3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 ClarkVV (3578) - Allston, Massachusetts, USA - NOV 29, 2004
2004 nitro tap. Dark yellow/golden-orange, very bright and consistent color with, of course, a huge, creamy off-white nitro head. Aroma of fresh fruity and spicy hops, not overly citric or floral, just juicy and round smelling. Flavor is juicy, lightly citric, and very hoppy. It dosent kill you with bitterness and it’s got plenty of creamy honey-flavored malt balance. Finish is a mix of fruitiness (pear, peach and apricot skin) with some resemblance to an orange creamsicle. Very drinkable. Nitro IPA is a cool idea and it works well. The fresh, bright, hoppy flavors break through the usually restraining character of nitrogen. It adds a wonderful element of creaminess and drinkability.
3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 jsquire (2484) - St. Marys, Ohio, USA - NOV 22, 2004
On tap at the brewery. Hazy orange color with a big bubble egg shell colored head that left lots of lace. Very fresh pine hop nose. Smells like a Christmas tree. This beer is all about the hops. Juniper and spruce and lots of pine flavors with some orange citrus and apricot flavors in there. The body is a little thin. Tastey hop head beer, but I like a little more of a backbone.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Pailhead (3449) - Plymouth, Michigan, USA - NOV 7, 2004
UPDATED: JAN 8, 2006 On tap: Aroma is similar to the pale ale only more citrusy. Pours an orangish-gold with and okay head. Okay lacing. Strong orange peel flavor with only a hint of bitterness. Like the pale ale, there’s something that I can’t put my finger on that turns me off a little. It’s not as strong in this beer which makes it rate slightly higher. Better IPA’s out there. (6-3-7-3-14)
Sampled again on tap: Much better experience this time. Huge citrus aroma with tons of orange and light grapefruit hops. Hazy orange with a small white head. Quick sweet orange flavors up front with a big citrus hop finish. Rating is based on this description.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 walleye (956) - Sterling Heights, Michigan, USA - AUG 1, 2004
From the bottle poured a nice amber color with a off white head of med. size nice lacing. aroma citrus on the grapefruit side, hops hints of lemon.flavor hops, citrus slight sourness the grapefruit came out at the finish I thought with the commercial description of the bitterness that I would pucker up but the bitterness was just right for me.
