tap at winter solstice party while waiting for the special brews to be put on tap... copper penny brown with a fluffy lasting off-white head... good balance of caramel malt and bitter pine/earthly hops in the aroma... pine/citrus flavors upfront, sweeter through the middle, and a little bitterness in the finish. drinkable.

Bottle. Pours a rich orange with a tight one finger head. Aroma is mango, light pine, grapefruit, caramel, and flowers. Flavor is hoppy with grapefruit juice and light caramel malt floating in at the end. Mouthfeel was sticky and left you craving another sip. Another beer from Kuhnhenn’s that I really like... definitely one to try and try again.

GTMW. Amber with a thin white head. This was was all over the place. Lots of acidic and citrus fruit. Hoppy for sure but I just don’t know what I think about it. (thats all my notes have....woops...)

On cask at GTMW. Poured clear, brighter amber with a short, loose cap of white head. The aroma was sweet and juicy with pears and grapefruit over drier pale malts.. very well presented and enticing. The flavor was juicy again with pears and passion fruit bitterness surrounding pale and toffee sweetness.. spicy floral notes on the finish.. very well-balanced. Medium-bodied, dry, and spicy on the palate with a great mouthfeel.. long finish.. the cask treated this one very well!

Hopheads rejoice! Strong hoppy aroma, lingering bitterness in the finish.. strong citrus flavor at the end. I’ve had better ipa’s but this one is very good.

Thanks to PilsnerPeter for sharing this one with me. Rich and sweet smelling with lots of nice crystal malt sweetness. Lots of light tangering, cherry and a sweet citrusy juiciness. Sweet and fruity. Light hoppy flavour over a prominent peachy/orange sweetness. There is a kiss of piny flavour on the back as well. Soft bitterness but there is a nice richness and a bit of peppery character as well. Lightly minty on the finish. It’s definitely on the sweeter side of the IPA category, but it’s pretty nice nonetheless.

Growler from the brewpub when my girlfriend visited: Rich deep copper pour with a small/dense light tan head that laces. Rich aroma in both malts and hops. Has some sweet pastry-like qualities, sweet resins and mild tropical fruit notes (peach) Nice mild carbonation. Body is substantial with notes of crystal malt-nutty-biscuity back with caramelized sweetness and dough notes. It’s very nicely balanced by resiny/fruity hop notes of peach and minty qualities. Smooth resiny bitterness into the finish with residual malt subtleties. A great, rich and balanced IPA.

Tap @ Hopcat’s. Poured a medium and cloudy amber color with virtually no head. Lighter aromas of mainly flowers with some light citrus. Tastes of flowers, sweet malts and light pine. Has a medium sweet to a lighter bitter balance.

12 oz. bottle courtesy goryshkewych... Thanks George! Best before 5/16/08, so it’s a little past it’s prime. Hazy dark reddish color with almost no head. Almost no bitterness and signs of infection in the aroma. Very malty taste with notes of hops, grain and infection. Almost drinkable, but not quite. Full bodied. There are signs of a good beer here, and I’d love to try this one fresh. 3/3/4/4/9
