COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Hand pulled from a beer engine. One of our original Solstice Releases has made another appearance. Dark in color with low to medium bitterness. This spiced ale is made with fresh ground ginger, dried orange peels, cinnamon and cardamon seeds. Some nice caramel notes can be found in the finish.

07 notes. Murky brown, with no head. Aroma full of spice and citrus, faint sourness. Flavor much the same, spice is faint, more sourness, slightly vegetal.

On tap: The aroma has strong notes of ginger, nutmeg, cinnamon, and a hint of sour fruit. It’s a cloudy amber with a soapy off-white head. The flavor has lots of spice with ginger, cinnamon, and nutmeg. There is a moderate fruity sourness that really comes into play as it warms. At first the sourness seems to work, but half way thru the glass it really starts to wear on me.

Spruce aroma. It’s cloudy dark brown fruity with very white head and lots of lace. Acidic apricot taste prominent. The fresh ground ginger, dried orange peels, cinnamon and cardamon seeds. I think this would be too much spices for a cask as it has been served.

UPDATED: NOV 1, 2007 Draft at pub, poured brown with a few bubbles that disappeared quickly, looked like a brown dunkell, stout and some chocolate with little spices on the nose, taste of spices, the cinnamon and ginger are dominant with the coriander in the background, the spices over shadowed the malts, some spice bite and some bitterness on the tongue, little malt sweetness, spices certainly stand out in this brew and a little to much spice for me to enjoy.

On draft at brewery. Pours brown with no head. Full spice aroma of coriander, cinnamon and ginger. Lots of ginger. Light in body but full flavor in ginger, cinnamon and orange hanging above the rest. I also get mild caramel sweetness and some grape tartness. Nice light weight Holiday brew.
