This beer, light amber in color, when poured releases a nice citrus-like American hop aroma. A refreshing true session beer with a light caramel malt flavor. The sweetness is in balance with the bitterness.

Straight laced pine nose, white grapefruit coloured nose and body - with a hint of opaque. This seething bitterness continues to the initial taste, very tart refreshment with a reclining yankee hop profile with a sweet Sunny Delight orange all at once. Finish is a bit less tangy, syruppy malt sweetness. Decent.

Had on-tap at Terryís Terrace in Harrison Township (?), Michigan. I was excited to finally get my first taste of Kuhnhenn. Appearance: Well, it looks like a pale ale. Thereís a finger or so of head that sticks around awhile. The lacing hangs in there for about the first half of the pint, and then it goes away. Smell: Itís just... nice. What more is there to say. The most noticeable aroma is the hops, but itís not a huge burst... just a nice, Fruity Pebble or Fruit Loops-esque smell that pleases the nose. Taste: Quite honestly one of, if not THEE, best pale ales that I have ever had, as it is perfectly balanced. It has the aroma and flavor of an IPA, but it lacks the bitter bite that most IPAs seem to have. The non-nondeScript citrus and cherry aroma comes through in the taste, and itís just super smooth and tasty. If I go to a bar and want something thatís not as bland as BMC or quite as hoppy as an IPA, Iím going to choose Loonie Kuhnie. The aroma and taste match up nicely, thereís a perfect balance of malts and hops, itís really not bitter at all (if you happen to dislike bitter beers), and would be a great sessionable choice at about five-and-a-half percent ABV. The mouthfeel is medium, and the finish is clean with a pleasant tea-like aftertaste (think Lagunitas IPA). Would love to have another.

Tap at Crowbar, january 26th 2013. Hazy orange body, big white head. Citrus aroma, lots of it, mango, orange, peels. Taste is also all about citrus fruits, pineapple and orange, a bit much, close to orange juice du to lack of bitterness, never thought iíd say this but i find the orange taste way too dominating here. Aftertaste levels it out a bit with a sweet caramel taste. Itís an interesting beer but could use a little balance.

Ipa aroma and it had some of that floral, citrussy flavor. Nice sour note to the beer. A real American. On tap at In De Wildeman.

Growler via growler swap 2.0. Poured a really pretty clear dark copper/burnt orange syrupy body under an average sized fluffy white head. Aroma starts off with loads of fruits, tropical and citrus along with som peach and nectarine along with dough and slight molasses. Medium to almost fuller bodied that is chewy for the style with strong carbonation for a growler that was shipped 100s of miles and has been in my fridge for an additionally week. Flavor is good with citrus rind and bread crusts along with some old fruits and slight molasses. Great AA on this one (appearance and aroma)

Keg at the Craft Beer Co Clerkenwell. Orange / golden colour, with a persistent white head. Some hop haze. Aroma is sharp lime / grapefruit. Flavour follows some caramel malt, more hop resin. Dryish finish sharp lime zest finish. Pretty good.
