mattmc1973 (125), Sterling Heights, Michigan, USA Jun 15, 2008 On tap at Kuhnhenn, was a light amber with a frothy white head, and good lacing that mostly lasted. Aroma was moderately malty and hoppy, with some hints of pine, grapefruit, and lemon. Taste was lightly bitter, with a dry mouthfeel, and medium body. Pretty good!
doboy (88), Morehead City, North Carolina, USA Oct 9, 2008 Tried at the World beer Festival in Durham, NC on 10-4-08 with the philosopher Drbayern and the Pragmatic Celticbrew. I appreciate Kuhnhenn’s coming to NC for the festival!!! Light orange, cloudy color with a great head. Great hops aroma. Hops taste was light but pleasing tot he palate. Good bittering. Wish bottles of this were available in NC! durhambeer (535), Durham, USA Oct 9, 2008 Sample pour from WBF. Dunno what they did to it there, but it appears other ratings from the WBF also thought this was much better than average, and I agree. Pale orange/golden hazy pour with generous foamy head. Floral hops on the nose as well as citrus... very fresh and lively. Very fruity taste with a decently bitter finish. Palate a bit thin, but a very good American pale. CelticBrew (509), The Crystal Coast, North Carolina, USA Oct 5, 2008 Sampled at WBF, Durham NC, draft forming nice size white foamy head, had a nice hazy orange hue. Aroma of hops, orange peels, and ocean water breeze. Flavour was both smooth and bitter, sweet toasted malts with a particular creamy hop bite. Pine, citrus and crisp hop makes this a wonderful and tasty APA. emacgee (1132), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA Oct 5, 2008 Sample at WBF. Pours a pale hazy gold with a creamy white head. The nose was amazing, fresh fruity citrusy hops, the cascades in this were incredible, fantastically floral and pungent. The flavor is fresh, fruity, very hoppy, mild bitterness, orange peel, citrusy. Mildly bitter mouthfeel. One of the more underrated brews on the site IMHO. vyvvy (1756), Hazelwood, Missouri, USA Aug 24, 2008 GTMW 08 - Pours hazy orange with a large white head. The aroma has dank simcoe hops with a hefty caramel malt background. Medium soft body with very soft carbonation. The flavor starts with chewy hops with some citrus added and toasted malt. The finish gets earthy with the hops and malt and is enjoyable. Good APA.
