Draft at pOny for Brendan’s CFA celebration. Pours a deep amber body with thin White lacing. Aroma is sweet malts, light nuts, light hop. Mouthfeel is medium wih notes of malts, fruit, syrup and light fruit hops. Somewhat plain, but not a huge fan of the style so it’s okay with me.

UPDATED: JUL 26, 2006 Draught. At the brewpub with blankboy, GregClow, jerc and tupalev. Poured clear gold, white-ish head. Light herbal, slightly sour/funky hop aroma, some toasty mild, a bit of alcohol burn. Taste follows on, quite herbal-bitter, finishes quick - decent body, a little astringent - pleasing, bock? well, I’m no expert, maybe not on-style, but I liked it.

2004 summer batch on tap. Light golden-yellow with some mild oranges, small foamy white head. Aroma is very light of malt, some hops spiciness and good crisp lager yeast. Flavor is similar, dry and crisp yeast mixes with some mildly earthy and spicy hops. As it warms and finishes, more malt sweetness emerges, but this is a very dry example of the style. No alcohol apparency, moderate complexity, mild carbonation with a medium body.

Draught sampler at the brewpub. Nice orange-amber colour. Aroma of roast malt and mild caramel. Medium body. Flavour is sweet & malty to start, with some nice herbal notes developing in the finish.

On tap at Kuhnhenn, poured amber with a off-white head, and left good lacing. Body was a bit murky. Aroma was faint and hard to discern, frankly. All I could tell is that it was moderately malty, and lightly hoppy. Flavor was a bit sweet. Texture was a bit creamy, with soft carbonation. Just OK.
