COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This light ruby colored mead is a blend of merlot wine and orange blossom honey. Honey and red fruit are equally present in both the nose and on the palate. It is more dry than sweet with a tannic woody finish.

(187ml bottle from Epic Mead Tasting 2011, thanks in part to blutt59 and Mora2000) clear rich blood ruby red colored with nice lacing. Nose of wine, grape, honey, barrel, and Merlot. Taste of red wine, dry, honey, floral, earth and berry. Nice dry finish.

Thanks to blutt59 and thirdeye11 for going in with me on 16 Kuhnhenn meads. This was part of an epic 20 mead tasting. Pours a nice looking medium reddish-purple color. The aroma is heavy on the merlot with some honey mixed in. The flavor is a little more complex. I get some nice, heavy oak notes as well as some grapes and honey. Unlike some of the other meads, this one is fairly dry, which I enjoy. Medium mouthfeel.

Bottle courtesy the great mead trade of 2011. (thirdeye11, blutt59, mora2000.) Pours a clear reddish color with a hint of orange. Aroma is fairly subtle. Some light notes of honey but very little smell. Flavor is dry, big alcohol bite, some wood and maybe a hint of fruit. Doesn’t finish too well.

bottle, thanks to thirdeye11, for rounding up all these, pretty pink to reddish color with brown highlights, aroma of honey and a light red wine, with flavor of same red wine and honey , woody

Glass at Kuhnhenn on 7/23/11. Dark red pour with no carbonation and no legs. Aroma of grape, currant, honey and more grape. Flavor is grape juice with honey and booze before a red wine finish.

Thanks to Alex for picking this up for me... looks like a red wine, looks nice... great nose of honey, grapes, sweet and tannic, really great... the taste isn’t as good, a little boring, more merlot than anything, not bad, just not great but I’d gladly have again
